The 6-foot-2 guard had quite the breakout season at Granville, producing 15.6 points, 3.5 rebounds and 1.4 steals per game for his squad last season while making 73 3-pointers and shooting 34 percent from behind the arc. He’s developing into more than a sharpshooter though, given the Panthers style of play. He’s emerging as a two-way threat alongside fellow teammate Terence Harcum Jr..
Q: Breakdown Jamari Mann’s game. What are your strengths and some aspects you’re working on?
Jamari Mann: Strengths are just looking for my shots. Knocking down open shots and looking for my teammates wherever I can. Some things I’ve been working on are my ballhandling and knocking down open shots.
Q: How’s the recruitment process going so far? Are there any schools recruiting you the most?
JM: A few schools are looking at me right now but that’s the part I’m working on now, getting more looks from schools.
Q: What are some personal goals you have for yourself and the team this season?
JM: Just do better as a team. Win more games, work together as a team. Improve upon our teamwork to get further in the postseason.
Q: Building on a breakout year from last season, is there any added pressure heading into next year?
JM: There’s really no pressure, just have to do more and bring more out. I just have to continue to work harder at my craft.
Mann has the potential to grow into a mid-major prospect with a new season on the horizon. Look for him to set himself apart this season as Granville Central looks to dominate the conference once again.
