He’s currently hearing from a bevy of Division and Division II programs, and there are two low-major D1s in particular that are in hot pursuit of the 6-foot-4 Bishop Hartley combo guard.
“I don’t have any offers right now, but I definitely think there’s a pretty big possibility that’s going to change after July. I’m hearing a lot from UMBC, Citadel, Richmond, Montana State, and American. And then some higher level D2s like West Liberty and Wheeling Jesuit,” said Fischer.
“I’d say definitely Montana State (might offer first), they’re definitely pursuing pretty hard. And also American University is coming after me pretty hard, they’re just waiting on my ACT score right now.”
Fischer added: “I’m definitely trying to pick up some offers, and I think that’ll come. It’s coming down to the very end, but I definitely think things will all come together in the end.”
A good-sized guard with some nice skill, Fischer explained his strengths to PHO.
“I’m a knock-down shooter, but lately I’ve been working really hard to develop into more of a three level scorer,” he said. “I’m trying to score off-the-dribble, and off the catch-and-shoot. But my strong points are definitely scoring and my basketball IQ.”
This summer Fischer will be playing with West Virginia Wildcats, a team he switched to recently.
“They have a great core of players and I’ve known their coach for awhile, and he’s great,” said Fischer. “I’m hoping to definitely pick up a couple offers this summer, and then just help the team win however I can.”
