April is closing in and some players will make their college decisions official during that time, while others may choose even sooner than that, so let’s jump right in to the recruiting roundup!
Pender HS Senior Guard Chance Poole made his decision official as he signed with Johnston County Community College yesterday afternoon. Poole is a pass first guard that loves to get other players involved, he has a gift for passing the ball so we shouldn’t be surprised to see him put nice assist numbers over the next two years.
James Kenan HS Senior Guard Darryl McCaster has picked up some good interest as of late with schools such as: Mount Olive, Catawba Valley CC and others inviting him in for workouts. He’s a player that can score the ball at a very high rate and we feel that it should transition to the next level fairly well for him regardless where he goes.
High Point Central HS Senior Guard Dhieu Deing has picked up interest from some D1 programs and rightfully so, he put together a nice senior season and has been turning more heads in the offseason. Monmouth is one of the programs that seems as if the interest they have is increasing, he is a legit D1 prospect without a doubt.
Guilford picked up a signature from Southern Guilford Tyler Dearman as he signed with the Quakers on Tuesday. Dearman is a player that we feel can make an early impact on the next level, he’s athletic and his 1,000 points for his high school career shows he can put the ball in the bucket.
Farmville Central Unsigned Senior Forward Dyquavis Wilkins continues to add offers as he picked up an offer from Francis Marion recently. His stock has been on the rise in a tremendous way over the last few months and it will be interesting to see how things full play out.
Moravian Prep Unsigned Senior Forward Daniel Lobach will be on a visit to UMBC, he currently has offers from various D2 schools and could be a player that fits well at the D2 level.
Laney HS Senior Guard Sherod Sidbury has committed to Brunswick Community College, this is a very nice pickup for the Dolphins as he can score the ball at a very high rate. BCC returns quite a bit of talent at the Forward spot so securing some talented guards are key for this group and Sidbury is a very good start.
VMI and Lincoln Memorial are two of the latest schools in inquire about 71st Forward BJ Mclaurin who had a good senior season. The senior stretch forward is one that has good upside and potential to his game, he can step out and knock shot from three point land at a pretty consistent rate which is a positive to go along with his height.
