After the game, the blossoming 6-foot-5 wing prospect shared his thoughts with Prep Hoops about the team’s performance, his overall game, and much more.
PH: How would you evaluate your team’s performance?
SU: “In the first half I thought we came out slow, weren’t ready to play. Once we got three kills in the second half it turned us up, we got momentum, and did pretty well.”
PH: For those who haven’t seen you play, how would you describe your overall game?
SU: “I like to attack the basket. I’ve got a shot too. Defenders like sagging off, not playing pressure defense. I’m mostly an athletic player though.”
PH: How well would you say you shoot the ball?
SU: “I’m good around the mid range area. I knock down some threes. Open shots.”
PH: I noticed you have good form and arc on your free throws, but they don’t consistently go in. Why do you think that is?
SU: “I just need to work on them more. That’s probably my second focus right now.”
PH: How are you doing in school?
SU: “School is going pretty well. I have a 3.1, 3.2 GPA.”
PH: What’s an underrated attribute you possess?
SU: “My ball-handling. I don’t really run the 1 on this team, but AAU I take the ball up the court sometimes.”
PH: What is your role on this team?
SU: “Since I’m 6th man, to come out really strong. If one of our starters are in foul trouble, I just bring momentum on the court.”
PH: What are you working on now?
SU: “Ball-handling, free throws and my jump shot.”
PH: What do you think you can bring to a college program?
SU: “Anything they want me to do. I think I can make a good impact.”
