Continue ReadingAs the regular season comes to an end, it is time for awards to be given out for the season. With the GWOC being so big, their All Conference teams will be split by Division. Today, we start with the GWOC North and Player of the Year, Andre Gordon from Sidney.
1st Team
Andre Gordon (2019)- Sidney- 23 points, 5 rebounds, 6 assists per game
Our GWOC North Player of the Year, Gordon is such a difference maker and helped turn this Sidney program around since he first arrived at Sidney. 4th in the Conference in scoring and 2nd in assists. All-Ohio potential player.
Qurri Tucker (2019)- Piqua- 17 points, 3 rebounds, 3 assists per game
The backcourt leader of a Piqua team that struggled throughout the season. One of the top under the radar players in Dayton.
Nolan Mader (2020)- Tippecanoe- 18 points, 7 rebounds per game
Mader has enjoyed a breakout season for the Red Devils. Has great size for a guard and still has another year to develop. Could potentially be a Player of the Year next year.
Ratez Roberts (2019)- Sidney- 11 points, 9 rebounds, 4 blocks per game
One of the best defenders in the GWOC. Finished 2nd in the Conference in rebounds and 1st in blocks. Tremendous athlete.
Michael Kreill (2019)- Butler- 15 points, 4 assists, 3 steals per game
One of the top point guards in the Dayton area; leads the Aviators in scoring, assists, and steals. Currently unsigned, but has next level talent.
2nd Team
Bryant Johnson (2019)- Butler- 8 points, 5 rebounds, 3 steals per game
Division 1 football recruit; utility player that can defend all 5 positions and is able to score from multiple levels.
Noah Walker (2019)- Greenville- 13 points, 5 rebounds, 2 steals per game
Sharpshooter for a Green Wave team that has struggled immensely. Committed to Heidelberg University on February 17th.
Braedon Norman (2019)- Butler- 12 points, 4 rebounds, 45% 3PT per game
Sharp shooting leader of a talented Aviators team. Stepped up last few games with Michael Kreill out with an injury.
Trey Richmond (2019)- Piqua- 9 points, 8 rebounds, 3 steals per game
Senior forward averaged nearly a double-double per game and provided Qurri Tucker a low post threat. 4th in the Conference in rebounds.
Calliou Monroe (2019)- Troy- 12 points, 7 rebounds, 3 assists per game
Led the Trojans in scoring and rebounds; found ways to score at all 3 levels.
