Mahtomedi/Heat Vang’s PG Shayne Frost has just been cleared after missing four tournaments with a broken wrist, and he couldn’t be happier. He’ll be back with his friends and continuing to build college interest with his playmaking ability at lead guard.
“The team is looking good and very strong on the defensive end, Willie has been an amazing coach,” Frost said. “I love the team and can’t wait to make a contribution again. I’ve heard most from Briar Cliff, they invited me to camp and asked to visit, Mount Marty’s invited me to a camp, I’ve heard from Chicago, Viterbo, Saint Mary’s, Concordia, Belmont sent a letter.”
Shayne may very well be looking outside of the midwest, as he mentioned larger student population, beautiful campus atmosphere, good education and a warmer climate as some of his desired factors in a college.
“I see myself going D2, I’m just working and trying to get better and my goal is just to play at the next level. I see myself being a solid contributor with a nice set of point guard skills, driving, finding open guys, and knocking down the 3.
“This summer I’m going to visit Briar Cliff with Sean (Sutherlin). And for out of town tourneys, my dad and I are going to take a look at some colleges in each state.
