There is a lot of talent in the state of Texas that I’ve had a chance to see multiple times so far this season. On Monday, I traveled to Midlothian to watch Midlothian Heritage vs. Lovejoy and found two prospects that were very intriguing. The game was a non-district contest, but it felt like more than just a game that doesn’t affect either teams playoff chances. The Lovejoy Leopards coached by Kyle Herrema was a little more prepared as a team and played more as a unit throughout the game. Lovejoy came out victorious over Midlothian Heritage 54-40.
Player Recaps
Prep Hoops Texas Player of The Game
Carson Holden / 6’6” / SF / Lovejoy / 2021
Holden was dialed in from behind the three point line. He has great length and a long frame that makes him a very intriguing young prospect. Holden must continue to work on his athleticism and lateral quickness to help him become a more versatile player. Carson has a chance to be on a lot of college coaches radar in the near future if he continues to improve.
Kyle Olson / 6’5” / PF / Lovejoy / 2019
Olson brings a combination of toughness and physicality to the Leopards. He rebounded and showed some solid athleticism despite being undersized.
Reggie Adams / 6’4 / SF / Midlothian Heritage / 2020
Adams is a chiseled athlete that looks like he isn’t a stranger to the weight room. Adams showed good offensive ability and hit jumpers as well as attacked the basket from the perimeter. Adams finished with a team high 15 points.
