Louisiana Div. IV Top 4 UPDATE
New Rank | Prev Rank | Team | Record |
---|---|---|---|
1 | Hamilton Christian | 2-0 | |
2 | St. Mary's | 4-0 | |
3 | Lafayette Christian | 4-0 | |
4 | Ouachita Christian | 3-1 |
1) Hamilton Christian (2-0)
Hamilton Christian was able to make it to the Final 4 last season in Div. IV, but they return almost their entire starting lineup for this season. The Warriors are going to go as far as 2020 PG Michael Thomas is able to take them, and with his talent level, I think that will be pretty far.
2) St. Mary’s (4-0)
St. Mary’s was able to make it to the state championship game a season ago, but they lost to LCA in the championship. However, this year, they bring back almost their entire team. They might have the most talented player in Div. IV in 2020 6’7 F Thomas Howell. He is really well put together, and can jump out the gym. He is more skilled than most would expect, and has the potential to be a high major D1 talent.
3) Lafayette Christian Academy (4-0)
This is going to be the first time in quite a while that LCA isn’t at the top of the rankings when it comes to their class. They have won two titles straight, but although I won’t rule it out, I would be pretty surprised if they were able to make it three straight. This is the first time in quite a while that there isn’t a no-brainer D1 player on the roster, but they are still deep with players capable of producing at the high school level.
4) Ouachita Christian (3-1)
Although Ouachita Christian has a pretty good record so far this season, this might be the biggest gap between the top 3 teams and everyone else in the entire state. Most of their wins so far have come against some pretty bad teams, but credit to Ouachita Christian for still coming out on top in those games.
