These players have made themselves known and are here to make some noise this season.
Liam Lloyd, Gonzaga Prep High School, 6’5 SG: Liam is a returning player from last years’ state championship team. Scoring 15 points in the championship game against 4A powerhouse, Federal Way high school. Liam Lloyd is the son of Gonzaga assistant coach, Tommy Lloyd. The 6’5 sharpshooter has a great feel for the game and a high IQ. All the intangibles you would expect from a coaches’ son. Lloyd currently has an Eastern Washington offer, along with multiple division one interest. With the bullpups returning majority of their core, expect Lloyd to up his recruiting as Gonzaga Prep eyes another deep run at state.
Tari Eason, Federal Way High School, 6’7 PF: The newest addition to the 21st ranked Federal Way Eagles, is Tari Eason. Tari is a tenacious rebounder who runs the floor like a greyhound. He has deceptive strength and good athleticism, which makes up for his lack of size down low. Eason spent his first two seasons at Garfield high school in Seattle where he saw limited action. During the summer he became a household name. He spent this summer playing with NW Panthers playing in the adidas Gauntlet. With Eason teaming up with 5star recruit Jaden McDaniel’s and top PG Pierre Crockrell, Federal Way looks ready to redeem themselves from last years championship lose.
Mitchell Saxen, Ingraham High School, 6’9 C/PF: Right now, there is no telling how good Saxen could be. Standing at 6’9 and with possibility of still growing, he could be a very special player. He has multiple Pac-12 offers coming into his junior season. The skilled big has a soft touch around the rim that extends all the way out to the three-point line. He has a repertoire of moves down on the block and has good patience before going into his move. If Mitchell can fill out physically and continue to improve on the defensive end, no telling what his ceiling is.
John Hart, Rainier Beach High School, 6’1 PG: John is an explosive guard who can score the ball at a very high clip. He is very bouncy and has a quick first step. This summer, the 6’1 played well for Washington Elite, including a dominant performance in the Premier Tournament championship. Hart was also selected to participate in Jamal Crawford’s Elite 30 camp. John is on his way to having a breakout season for the Rainier Beach Vikings. With some of the states best prospects on the Vikings roster, John will be able to make an impact with little responsibility falling on him.
