A rising freshman, Eric Dailey Jr. is a name to remember at IMG.

The 2022 forward stands at 6'6", 200 lbs., has a seasoned jump shot and can dunk with the best of them already. Dailey Jr. will be playing with the junior national team at IMG this fall, the same team he played with as an 8th grader.

"My confidence grew in my ability to handle the pressure at the guard position as well as playing against bigger and older players in the post," Dailey Jr. told Prep Hoops. "I grew a lot as a player and learned my role on the team and also be better and smarter as a student. My versatility has expanded as well."

His father Eric Dailey Sr. was a standout at TCU in the early 90's. In fact, he is 8th all-time in school history with a 57.2 shooting percentage from his 1992-93 season. Now, he's the owner of Dailey Training, founded in 1997.

Eric Dailey Jr. has been mentored by former NBA and international pros since the 3rd grade.

"At Dailey Training, they are preparing me to be a positionless player. The work that I do with my dad is specialized for me. I can play every position on the court as well as defend every position," he said. "I still have a long ways to go but my basics are down in terms of shooting in the bar his passing skills are elite and his basketball IQ."

Most of the times start with agility work like running the hill, footwork drills, beach workouts and then we lift weights. After that, we get on the court for about an hour and do shooting drills and lots of game movement."

Dailey Jr. is not playing travel ball this season instead he's played in Spain during the spring and tournaments in Barcelona and Madrid. Next month, he'll play in the Jr. NBA championships in Orlando against the top rising freshman in the country.

No offers have come yet, but he's received letters from the University of Texas and Florida A&M. He's also spoken with FSU head coach Leonard Hamilton.

"The main thing each school said they like about me is my size my ability to score, make my teammates better and my attitude on the court," Dailey Jr. said.

He pointed to biggest strengths as his mid-range jumper and attack to the basket.

"My dad says "nobody can stop you from getting to the paint so use that to your advantage" and that’s what I try to do," he said.

Dailey Jr. is aiming to increase his speed and use his right hand more to score.

The athleticism is there, the hard work is being instilled in him and Dailey Jr. is certainly a 2022 prospect with endless potential. The fact that he's already heard from Texas head coach Shaka Smart and FSU head coach Leonard Hamilton says all you need to know about his upside. Remember the name, Dailey Jr. is just hitting the cusp of his abilities.
