Spencer’s Standouts-SWBC Part 2

<!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>I attended Gregg Rosenberg's SWBC on 8/17 and 8/18 at the Phhacility. Throughout the event, I watched every team play at least once. Many great players on all teams showcased their talents. Here were some of the players who caught my eye:</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>[player_tooltip player_id='3727303' first='Trasel' last='Rone'] <strong>Willow Canyon:</strong></p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>A recent transfer into Willow Canyon will make an impact right away. He is a pest on defense with his super-quick hands. Trasel can grab rebounds and push it up the court well in transition. He throws great hit-ahead passes in transition. He is a quick guard who can attack the basket and finish well. Trasel will be a nice addition for this Willow Canyon squad. </p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>[player_tooltip player_id='2949469' first='Zane' last='Graham'] <strong>Paradise Valley:</strong></p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>A bigger-sized forward who was able to score with ease all camp, which earned him a top-24 selection. Zane has a pure stroke and can shoot at all levels. He has a smooth midrange pull-up that he can get to whenever. Along with that, he attacks the rim with a full head of steam, looking to finish every time. Coming off a great freshman year for Paradise Valley, he is looking to continue that heading into his sophomore year.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>[player_tooltip player_id='3726197' first='Brody' last='Pendleton'] <strong>Coronado:</strong><strong><br></strong>A crafty quick on quick guard who made his presence known during the camp. Brody has fast hands on defense, which allows him to get in passing lanes and rip defenders on the ball, consistently leading to easy buckets. Offensively, he loves to use the floater, which lets him shoot over bigger defenders. Brody also makes the 3-ball at a high rate, which lets him be effective when driving the ball. He will have another huge season for Coronado.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>[player_tooltip player_id='2386958' first='Isaiah' last='Gill']<strong> Marana Mountain View:</strong></p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>A quick on-quick guard who made his mark on defense. Isaiah works hard defensively every possession. He has super fast hands and gets a ton of deflections on the ball. Offensively, he gets into the paint often and has a nice floater. He uses different finishes to score around the rim. He is in for a huge senior year with Marana Mountain View.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>[player_tooltip player_id='2950406' first='Alex' last='Beck'] <strong>Mica Mountain:</strong></p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>Alex continued to shine during the camp. He has a quick release and shoots the ball at a high rate. Alex uses his pump fake super well, getting defenders to fly by him and opening up easy threes. He gets elevation on his jumper, which allows him to draw fouls. He will have a big year for Mica Mountain.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>[player_tooltip player_id='2407205' first='Ja'Mir' last='Smith'] <strong>Chandler:</strong></p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>Ja'Mir played super well during the showcase, getting him into the top-20 game. He is extremely athletic, which allows him to block shots with ease. He also walls up well around the basket. Ja'Mir dunks it with ease over defenders. He is also starting to expand his game with some midrange pull-ups. He'll be a great piece for Chandler this season.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph -->
