Matthew Graves Indiana State Elite Camp Top Performers

The Matthew Graves/Indiana State Elite Camp brought together a talented group of prospects for an opportunity to compete in front of the Indiana State coaching staff. Throughout the camp, several players separated themselves with their production, competitiveness, and overall impact on both ends of the floor. With plenty of talent deserving recognition, here's part two of the top performers who stood out throughout the day.    One of the prospects that caught my attention late in the day, Tommy Beussink out of the state of Missouri got hot late in the day from three and really made his presence felt in my eyes. Combo guard that showed he was comfortable on or off the ball, but is best when he's getting set up. Clean repeatable stroke with deep range and a quick trigger. Not just a shooter though. Showed his ability to drive closeouts and make the right play when the defense rotates over. Talented offensive prospect, but also competed on the defensive end and played with a high motor.     Big time shooter out of Fort Myers, Florida that just made the move to Minnesota to attend Minnehaha Academy. Donovin Diaz is a 6'4” sniper that got going early and often at the Indiana State Elite Camp. Excellent off the catch and off the dribble. Showed he understands how to get open and takes what the defense gives him. High release on his pull-up jumper in the midrange and shoots it with a soft touch. Really put an emphasis on the defensive end of the floor where he competed on every possession. Good rebounder that changes ends of the floor and his gravity as a shooter opens up opportunities for teammates.     Not many players in camp played with the intensity and had the impact that 2027 Vashon High School Product Khalil Crain had. Physical guard with impressive athleticism that was relentless getting downhill on drives where he used his explosiveness to make some eye popping plays above at and above the rim. Versatile defender that lived in passing lanes. Also showed his ability to rebound at a high level from the guard spot and push in transition. Intriguing court vision as a playmaker. Showed his ability to play out of the pick and roll and make the right reads.     One of the top point guard prospects out of the state of Kentucky in the class of 2029, CJ Sweeney was a wizard with the ball all camp long. Shifty left-handed guard that lived in the paint in both isolation situations as well as in the pick and roll. Really aggressive coming off screens. Struggled at the start with his jump shot but really got going late in camp. Saw the ball go through the basket a few times out of the midrange and finally built confidence in his perimeter game.       Gotten the chance to see Edgewood 2028 Guard [player_tooltip player_id='2797141' first='AJ' last='Norris'] several time this spring and summer on the AAU Circuit and was always intrigued with his game, but also left wanting a little bit more out of him. Today, he was one of the best guards at camp and showed his full potential. Confident offensive minded guard that's capable of playing on or off the ball. Quick first step that puts pressure on the rim off the dribble. Crafty finisher around the basket with either hand. Smooth three-point stroke that can get hot in a hurry.
