Our 2028 rankings update saw some slight changes at the top with some players starting to separate themselves from the rest of the pack, in this article I'll break down four prospects who moved up in our top 22 of the rankings.

Coffey was one of the most productive guards at the 16 U level on the 3SSB circuit this summer and earned some new offers in the process with NKU and Akron recently offering. Coffey also transferred high school programs, making the move a few miles south on the highway from Lebanon to Lakota East. Lakota East gives Coffey a much better chance to compete for conference and state titles as they have the talent and depth to support Coffey on both ends of the court. With so much talent in the GMC this season, we'll be following that conference closely as Coffey becomes another top player in the state to call that conference home this winter.

Bigs always take a little longer to develop than guards and Howard is slowly starting to turn the corner on both ends of the court. A gifted athlete, Howard has the height and length to protect the rim, rebound and play above the rim as a rim runner or from the dunker spot. Howard added recent offers to San Francisco and UCF in July. Warrensville Heights has a lot of depth once again this season and if Howard makes another leap, they should contend for regional and state championships.

Moving from New York to Western Reserve Academy, Proudfoot comes to Ohio with the reputation as being one of the top shooters in the 2028 class. Proudfoot averaged nearly 14 PPG for the City Rocks at the 16 U level and connected on 31 3-pointers in 13 EYBL games. Proudfoot will have a simple role for Western Reserve Academy and that's to make shots and compete defensively. Holding a handful of Division I offers, schools from the northeast part of the country are very familiar with Proudfoot. A top prospect to check out at a northeast Ohio prep program!

Johnson has always been one of the most naturally talented prospects from central Ohio's 2028 class. I went a while from seeing Johnson in action but got to see him in June with Centennial and then July with Nova Village 16 U. Johnson has improved in the weight room with his body improving as he continues to mature, allowing him to handle physicality better. Johnson also has the poise and positional size to make shots over smaller defenders. Johnson has the physical tools to be an impact defender on the perimeter and the frame to defend multiple positions, growth on that end of the court will likely be where he can make the biggest jump as a junior.

Our 2028 rankings update saw some slight changes at the top with some players starting to separate themselves from the rest of the pack, in this article I'll break down four prospects who moved up in our top 22 of the rankings.
