Edina’s Vincent Cronin Talks Miami of Ohio Commitment

It wins you battles against nine or ten other offering mid and low majors, and deflects potential interest from the high major level. [player_tooltip player_id='2126115' first='Vincent' last='Cronin'] is our third ranked player in the class of 2027 and he's earned that spot, and now he's headed to one of the hottest mid-major programs in the nation.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>"I just announced about four minutes ago that my commitment to Miami of Ohio," Cronin said. "That's why I didn't answer your first call, I was making the commitment post online lol!</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>"Off the court it's a school that I would want to be going to. A lot of kids from Edina High School go there and I have a lot of friends there. On the court they are a great program, the coaches believe in me, it's a great opportunity and I think I can make an impact early on in my career. From a player development standpoint I think it's a really great place to develop as a player."</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>Cronin and his team will be playing in Bryan, Texas this weekend and at this point Cronin joins teammates [player_tooltip player_id='2126467' first='Baboucarr' last='Ann'] (Wisconsin) and [player_tooltip player_id='2126108' first='Jack' last='Thelen'] (Wisconsin) as committed prospects on a team where all eight players have a division one offer. </p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>"The season with [program_tooltip program_id='2075431' first='D1' last='Minnesota'] has gone really good," Cronin explained. "I love playing with my teammates and we have a lot of great players on this team even though its really our first time playing with one another I think we have a great chemistry and we are picking things up fast. </p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>"The biggest goal is to win Adidas which I really think we have a shot at doing. We are a little bit under the radar right now because early on we lost some games that we shouldn't have lost but I think we have a real chance at making it far and surprising people."</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>As for the Edina Hornets, they went 13-15 a season ago but with a player like Cronin returning, hopes are high for next winter. Luke Miller returns along with Cronin giving the team to really good forwards and there are young players like [player_tooltip player_id='2910369' first='Quianny' last='Christian'] to keep an eye on.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>"I really think we have the potential of making it out of our section. It's a really hard section but I think we have a lot of young guys that haven't played much but they are really good and while they may lack some experience, they are good players and I really do think we have a chance to get out of our section and make a run at state."</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>Cronin is a preseason first team all state player in Class AAAA basketball after scoring 20 plus points a game last year as a junior. </p> <!-- /wp:paragraph -->
