The Prep Hoops Indiana State Tournament provided plenty of opportunities for players to make statements. The Prep Hoops Indiana staff had boots on the ground all weekend checking out a lot of very talented prospects. Here is part three of my player notes.

Out of all the players that I had a chance to watch over the weekend at the Prep Hoops Indiana State Tournament, 2028 Park Tudor guard [player_tooltip player_id='2871458' first='Owen' last='Platt'] was easily one of the more impressive. I did not see a player set a ton early in a game like Platt did showcasing a very high motor and just being a flat-out scoring machine. He has a real dangerous jumper but what impressed me the most was how quick he was off the dribble and just the hustle he played with overall. Very shifty guard to keep an eye on for the Panthers.

When it came to just playing hard on both ends of the floor, that is what I saw from 2028 Silver Creek guard [player_tooltip player_id='2837831' first='Kaden' last='Thompson']. Playing for Indiana Elite - Team Crossroads 16u, Thompson stood out with his tough defense and just competing every play. Thought he did a pretty solid job guarding on the ball and not giving up anything easy to offense in general. Right now, it looks like he can be a solid player at putting on the ball on the floor and being aggressive about trying to get to the basket.

While he is a little under-the-radar right now, a player that I think has some breakout potential in the Indiana class of 2028 is [player_tooltip player_id='2888401' first='Aiden' last='Martinez'] of Providence Cristo Rey HS. Martinez is one of the top frontcourt pieces for the loaded [program_tooltip program_id='2076924' first='EG10' last=''] 16U and stands out with his length at 6'6 and he smooth versatility. He plays so well off the bounce and pairs it well having a smooth jumper 15ft and out. Very fluid overall and competes on the glass, as well.

One of the more physical forwards that I had a chance to watch at the Prep Hoops Indiana State Tournament was Cooper Smits of Noblesville HS. Smits, a 6'3 small forward, runs with [program_tooltip program_id='2847679' first='Refined' last='Indiana'] 17u and stands out being super physical on both ends of the floor Thought he was pretty aggressive a cutter off the ball and was always very active moving around and creating space. Never felt like he took a play off when I watched him either.

A guard in the Indiana class of 2027 that I am starting to become a huge fan of is [player_tooltip player_id='2477597' first='Jeremiah' last='Murphy'] of Ben Davis HS. Another top backcourt option for the very talented [program_tooltip program_id='2076924' first='EG10' last=''] 17U team, Murphy plays with a ton of smoothness to is game with really good court vision on the ball. He is a good decision maker on the ball and handles it well enough to be able to make moves to get the defense off of him. I expect him to step up in a big time role for the Giants starting in the summer.
