We had a ton of coverage over the weekend on PHI and social media from Prep Hoops Live! Now it is time to examine what we saw and the prospects that made the biggest impression. Here is Prep Hoops Live: Scotty B's 2030 Illinois Breakout Prospects!

Robert Smith Jr ([program_tooltip program_id='2452456' first='Mac' last='Irvin Fire'])

First look at a young man that I have been hearing about for years and will be covering for hopefully the next four years. Smith Jr is headed to state champion Marist and should see early playing time on the varsity level as a freshman. The 6'2” shooting guard is very skilled and has a high basketball IQ for his age. Consistently put it on the deck getting to the rim where he showcased quality body control finishing through and around contact for and-1s. Burst with the ball in transition when the defense is on their heels. Array of finishing moves at the cup already. Capable shooter both off the catch and pulling up. Can play both on and off the ball being able to set others up with his passing especially finding his shooter for open looks or hitting the big man out of the dunker spot. Defensively he was active with his hands and got steals especially when flying around in their press. Bright future ahead for this guard!

[player_tooltip player_id='2966991' first='Kamarion' last='Sandifer'] ([program_tooltip program_id='2452456' first='Mac' last='Irvin Fire'])

Sandifer is a 6'4” power forward who will attend Simeon. We came away impressed with his motor and athleticism around the hoop. Defensively he blocked and altered a ton of shots with his long and lanky frame. Projects that he will continue to grow. Flies around on that end getting steals and covering a ton of ground. His quick second jump is a major factor on the glass as he will get back up before his opponent for a finish or clear the board on the defensive end. Very explosive around the hoop. Flashed some passing feel as well.

[player_tooltip player_id='2409341' first='Bennett' last='Meier'] ([program_tooltip program_id='2452456' first='Mac' last='Irvin Fire'])

This St. Laurence bound 6'4” small forward displayed a lot of promise in their Friday night game. Good positional size already with a lanky build. His weakside defense was off the charts for a young player recording four steals which he took the other way for scores. Quality athlete who combines skill, athleticism, and instincts. Sweet turnaround jumpers backing in for 10-12 foot jumpers. Runs the floor hard!

Tobi Farley ([program_tooltip program_id='2452456' first='Mac' last='Irvin Fire'])

Farley emerged as the 5'10” point guard headed to Mt. Carmel is going to be a fun addition to their young core. Plus three point shooter who mixes in a sweet soft touch finishing game. Gets to the line at a solid rate. Like the feel and pace that he brings to the table.

[player_tooltip player_id='2886530' first='Brysen' last='Morris'] (Royalty Hoops)

Morris was a pleasant surprise to see at the event. One of the more heralded incoming freshman in the state we were able to see for the first time. Really like the size at 6'4” with a strong and projectable build. Early on in the game we caught he buried a three. Crisp ball handler that can really create off the bounce getting to the line at a high rate. Burst with the rock along with putting combination moves together that on at least two occasions the refs called travel when it wasn't. Quality passing feel in the half court along with long outlet dimes. Defensively he has all the tools you look for and had an impressive swat at the cup. Combined with 2029 Marshall they are going to be a fun 1-2 punch to watch next season at Bloomington. Morris will be one of the best incoming freshman in the state.

[player_tooltip player_id='2393299' first='Duain' last='Johnson'] (Y&R)

Johnson is a 6'4” power forward who will attend Yorkville where he should fit in nicely with their 2028 class. Super physical frame and is tough on the glass. Rebounds well on both ends, tough finishes in the paint, and is a defensive presence inside.
