Recruiting Report: Brekken Lindberg (2019)
Win-E-Mac big Brekken Lindberg is a double-double threat every night in Northern Minnesota and today he spoke with NHR about his basketball past, present, and future!
“My high school team had a solid season,” Brekken said. “We went 17-12 and made a good run in the playoffs, losing to Cass Lake-Bena in the sub section game and they went on to win the section title.”
This season Brekken put up 14.7 points, 7.4 rebounds, and 2.4 blocks per game and made the all conference team.
“I was able to take on a double or triple team every night and create looks for my teammates. I also finished a few points shy of 1000 point for my career.”
Lindberg has become a more skilled, all around player now that he is an underclassmen.
“I have expanded my game by shooting more threes and developing good attack moves to the basket,” Brekken stated. “I also have become comfortable playing with a double team and finding the open guy if I can’t get a good look. This year was the first year I was more of a leader on the team, and I think I stepped into the role well.”
For the 17u season Brekken is keeping things local.
“I am playing with a local team out of Grand Forks this year due to family reasons,” Lindberg explained. “My coach was a division one post and has helped me advance my game on the interior. I am still getting to know my team, but I think we have a lot of potential.”
Brekken plans to see several campuses this summer to get in front of college coaches.
“As far as recruitment, I’ve been in contact with a handful of schools this year including Winona State and St. John’s. I have plans to make numerous college visits this summer and attend a few camps.”
