Expert Analysis
Robbie Hodin | Prep Hoops Scout
Ambrozich was extremely productive this weekend for a Vermont Academy team that’s going to need to find some scoring and offensive firepower without Kamari Whyte in the mix. The 6-foot-8 forward showcased an impressive shooting stroke this weekend from both the mid-range and three; he made spot-up opportunities from three while showing off some Dirk fadeaways in the mid-range over smaller defenders. He can rebound, he plays hard on both ends, and he has a very advanced offensive skillset for his size and position. Ambrozich will be a key player for Vermont Academy this season and should pick up scholarship offers accordingly.

Ambrozich, a forward out of Vermont Academy in Vermont, is ranked #12 among the power forwards and checks in at #62 overall in this update. The 6’8″ forward is a good vertical athlete that shows a willingness to play physically on the defensive end of the floor while also doing some of the dirty work offensively. He’s a fluid mover that does a nice job of rolling to the rim out of ball screens and shows the ability to finish it in a variety of ways around the basket. He covers ground quickly with long strides and plus length, and also shows some plus instincts as a shot blocker in rotations. He plays his travel ball with North Bay Basketball Academy.

A new prospect on the radar, Ambrozich put together a quality two-game weekend while helping lead a junior-laden Vermont group to a 1-1 record. The native of Hawaii who’s in his first year in New England averaged 11 points while displaying a well-rounded skillset in the frontcourt. He was effective as a cleanup man near the rim, showing good positional awareness with swift hands and ambidextrous finishing touch while playing through physicality in traffic. Ambrozich also flashed ability to put the ball on the floor past opposing bigs. With D1 bloodlines, he looks to have clear scholarship-level ability with a D1 shot in his own right as we evaluate him further.
