This past week, I was at Bishop Hartley for a big comeback win over Johnathan Alder and then both Saturday and Sunday night cap games at Ohio Dominican for The Shotclock Battle. This article will talk about some elite upperclassmen guards from these games.

[player_tooltip player_id='2959405' first='Brady' last='Sweet'] can play on my team right away. He is a coach's dream. He plays the game with such high intensity, competitiveness, and effort. He makes all the little plays and makes his teammates around him better. When he was taken out of the game, it was felt instantly, and vice versa when being put back in. Sweet showed great leadership all night. He does a great job of finishing around the rim with touch. He does not force anything that is not there. He knocked down some threes from beyond the arc. He plays at a great pace. Really big fan of him.

I love [player_tooltip player_id='2316118' first='Nate' last='Dawson'] as he is an incredible modern guard. He is so long, athletic, and can do those things on the court that not many others can do. He is an incredible defender as he slides his feet so well and rarely lets anyone get by him. He uses his length well to never let the offensive player feel comfortable dribbling around him. He is excellent in transition and driving on a straight line to the rim and finishing. He has explosiveness around the rim, and this shows when he puts his head above the rim to dunk it. He is a great slasher and knows his game so well. Never forces when he probably could more.

Schroder is a flamethrower. He has the ultimate green light and can change the momentum of a game with his shooting ability. The ball comes off his hands so quickly and with such an intense spin on it. He has an unlimited range and can shoot off the catch at an elite level. He is one of the few players who are returning from the state title team from last year. He shows this with the way he oppurates the offense.

O'Neil is playing with a different level of confidence this year and has showcased his game in a big way. He is stepping into the main scorer role for Hartley. He has the green light and the confidence to be that type of scorer. He is a good-sized guard with a strong build. He has a great midrange one or two dribble pull-up game. He can get all the rack when the lane opens up, but he doesn't force anything at the rim. He is also really good off the dribble from three-point land as well. He has a smooth and quick release. He elevates good on pull-ups. He is having his best year yet as a senior.
