30 Names to Know Part IV: Small School

<h2>2016 Andy Geelan, G-T/R-A</h2><p>He&#39;s 6-foot-5, versatile, and absolutely filled up the stat sheet last season as a junior. He was among 1A&#39;s leaders in points, 3-point shooting, assists...you get the picture. When we last spoke he was seeing NAIA interest. Time to take notice of this small school gem. </p> <h2>2017 Matt Larson, ADM</h2><p>For the purpose of this article "small" means anything outside of Iowa&#39;s biggest class 4A -- so ADM qualifies. And if any hoops fans want to travel just outside the Des Moines metro to see one of the more savvy and skilled guards in the state, head to ADM&#39;s gym this winter. </p> <h2>2016 Nick Waller, Aplington-Parkersburg</h2><p>One of our favorites from the class of 2015, Ross Cooper, is now gone. And Falcon point guard Nick Waller gave us a glimpse last March of what may happen now that it&#39;s his team to lead. He was dazzling at the state tournament, and he&#39;ll be one of the best point guards in the state this season. </p> <h2>2016 Landon Rash, Algona</h2><p>Rash could have qualified as a "my turn" guy, but we shoehorned him with the small school group guys for convenience. He was splendid when we saw him at the Norwalk team camp in July, and it&#39;s very clear the Bulldogs are his team to lead. His ability to get to the hoop and knock in an outside look will be difficult to defend. </p> <h2>2016 Spencer Brown, Lenox</h2><p>He&#39;s baaaack. After missing most of last season with a serious leg injury, the 6-foot-8 center is once again ready to wreak havoc on his southern Iowa opponents. A shot-blocking extraordinaire, the Lenox Tiger star says he&#39;s back to full-strength, that&#39;s bad news for the competition. </p> <h2>2016 Granger Kingland, Lake Mills</h2><p>With all due respect to Levi Jansen, Connor Murrell, Jordan Bohannon and host of other sharpshooters, Granger Kingland may very well be the best 3-point shooter in the state. He pured in 83 3s last season at an alarming 53 percent clip. He&#39;s 6-foot-4 too, and flying under the radar. </p>
