Recruiting Report: Harlond Beverly (2019)
Six-foot-4 guard Harlond Beverly of Farmington Hills, Michigan is a top 100 four star talent with a budding offer list.
Playing in the NY2LA Basketball League with the REACH Legends Beverly made national headlines with his play. Coaches from the best teams in the upper Midwest made their ways into the NY2LA gyms in Dallas including the staff of Minnesota who all see Harlond play over the weekend and was the latest to offer.
Tuesday the Gophers talked to Beverly offering a scholarship.
“It was an honor,” Harlond said. “It’s always a great and special feeling to receive an offer from a big time school and a program like Minnesota. I don’t know very much yet about their program.”
Beverly plays at Southfield Christian by winter, but it’s now 17u time and Bevery is off to a fantastic start. He scored 24.5 points per game last weekend with over nine rebounds and almost five assists on average as well.
“The weekend went good four u, we went 4-0.”
When the Legends were playing college coaches packed in to see Harlond play. Travis Steele of Xavier and Chris Holtmann of Ohio State went to see Beverly at his school before the open period and they are among six schools right now are watching Harlond the most and showing him the most interest.
“I’m hearing the most from Michigan State, Ohio State, Xavier, Baylor, Mizzou, and Northwestern,” Beverly recalled.
Others that have offered Beverly (in addition to the seven schools we’ve already talked about) are USC, VCU, Arizona State, and UNLV. The guy that offered Beverly at UNLV was current Minnesota assistant Rob Jeter who continues to recruit Beverly as a Gopher assistant.
