Recruiting Report: Karsten Broadley (2019)
Junior forward Karsten Broadley of Fosston led the Greyhounds to a 21-win season scoring 18 a game.
“I felt that we had a very successful regular season with getting over 20 wins and a conference championship,” Broadley said. “Our playoff run was cut short as we played a rival game and came up short in overtime over a team that we should’ve beat.
“I thought that my individual season went well. I accomplished my 1,000 point and grew into a more versatile player.”
Broadley felt his skills climb to another level as the year went on.
“I have seen a difference in my overall ball handling skills in all aspects of the game,” Karsten said. “With that I believe that confidence in knocking down shots and being able to make plays has grown.”
Broadley is set to play this weekend with Minnesota Select in the Comets Shootout.
“I will be playing for Minnesota Select this spring\summer,” Karsten said. “Due to some complications with other programs I have just joined the team and have yet to meet all of my teammates and play live with them yet but I am confident in the program and that we will be a great team.”
College coaches will follow the Minnesota Select schedule through a pair of leagues that regularly have local college coaches in attendance, the NY2LA Basketball League and the SPTS.
“Minnesota-Crookston have offered me a full scholarship to play there,” Karsten said.
“South Dakota School of Mines has been in close communication with me playing there along with BSU and University of Sioux Falls. I have continued to get letters from Augustana, Winona State, and U of Mary.”
