Underclassmen Emerge in First Month Tape Review

<!-- wp:paragraph --> <p><a><em>***Use Code “ScottyB30” for 30% off your annual subscription***</em></a></p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>We have seen a ton of high school basketball games this season!&nbsp; Our staff also is trying to find new film on prospects every day!&nbsp; Here are some 2027 and 2028 players that caught our attention!</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p><strong>Marion Persich (La Salle Peru – 2028)</strong></p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>Perisch projects best at the next level as a QB on the gridiron, but he can ball too!&nbsp; At 6'4” 220 pounds the strong bodied small forward has a nice combination of power and skill.&nbsp; Can win on straight line takes for scores in the paint while scoring with nifty layups along with using his strength in the paint.&nbsp; Good passer that shows good instincts as a distributor.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p><strong>[player_tooltip player_id='2894590' first='Alijah' last='Johnson'] (Richwoods – 2028)</strong></p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>Johnson put his name on our radar with a strong showing at the Prep Hoops Sophomore ID Camp back in the fall.&nbsp; He is doing work next to Smith-Holley in the Richwoods backcourt.&nbsp; The point guard plays with excellent pace and feel for the game.&nbsp; Can pull up behind ball screens for jumpers.&nbsp; Crisp ball handler that uses the hang dribble so well for a sophomore.&nbsp;</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p><strong>Tousaint Makabu (Champaign Centennial – 2028)</strong></p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>Strong and compact guard that has some bounce to his game.&nbsp; Active defender at the point of attack that turns defense into offense in a hurry!&nbsp; Excels in transition</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p><strong>[player_tooltip player_id='2947403' first='Orlando' last='Bohlen'] (Walter Payton – 2029)</strong></p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>Bohlen is a long and lanky freshman that has a bright future.&nbsp; Excels as a finisher in transition and can really shoot it off the catch with a fluid and easy release along with deep range.&nbsp; Very bright future to be a major presence in the 2029 class.&nbsp;</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p><strong>[player_tooltip player_id='2532311' first='AJ' last='Williams'] (Providence Catholic – 2029)</strong></p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>The 2029 point guard dropped 25 points against Marmion Academy.&nbsp; Pushes the pace in transition with his speed and passing.&nbsp; His defense often ignited their offense.&nbsp; Nifty finisher in the lane with slick euro steps and soft touch finishes.&nbsp; Capable shooter off the catch.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p><strong>Kingston Taylor (Marian Catholic – 2029)</strong></p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>Taylor is a smaller 5'8” point guard who is a good ball mover.&nbsp; Soft touch game in the paint and kicks to open shooters when in the lane.&nbsp; Good cross over.&nbsp; Pushes ahead in transition.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph -->
