The 2028 rankings were updated on the site today and as usual, we'll spend the next couple days breaking down the list in a variety of ways. With these prospects just entering their sophomore year, there is still a lot to learn about each players game, makeup, and potential. There were a number of new additions to the list and I'll kick things off by breaking down a handful of them here.

Browne makes his debut in the 2028 rankings thanks to his transfer and decision to reclass at West Nottingham. The move should benefit both Browne and his new school pretty significantly as the 6-foot-5 wing is just scratching the surface of who he can become. With good size, plus length, and fluidity within his movement as a hybrid forward, the verstatiltiy that Browne can offer at both ends is what makes the ceiling so high. He flashes some loud, needle-moving skills within his toolbox, but the next step is bringing a consistent, aggressive motor to the floor every time he's under the whistle.

Miller goes from being the focal point offensively with his grassroots team (York Ballers) to an underclassmen still trying to find his niche early on with Mt. Zion. What's easy to see with Miller is the size, length, and athleticism. He's already shown comfort in scoring from different spots on the floor and in a variety of ways, but stepping up in competition playing on The Grind Session should allow him to go through some valuable growing pains. Miller is the type of prospect that could rocket up this list in time as his blend of versatility, skill, and athletic ability that will continue to expand within the maturation process should result in a potential household name in the DMV when he's a senior.

Over the years there has been a long list of small, explosive, and entertaining lead guards to play in Baltimore City. Rountree stands 6-foot on his best day, but consistently brings a blend of flare, edge, and intriguing playmaking ability to the floor for Mervo. His foot is always on the gas and he'll expose a scoring opportunity for himself with the best of them. He has end-to-end speed to thrive in an up-tempo pace, a tight handle to ensure security, and improv skills when the offense breaks down. This Mervo team has a few key contributors heading into their first season under head coach Josh Czerski, but when it comes to breaking down who could be their best underclassman, you won't get far before getting to Rountree.

Haysbert is another intriguing prospect that will spend time at both forward spots for his high school team this season. He may even log some minutes at the five to make up for the overall lack of size that Loyola has this season, but all of this should only force Haysbert's overall game to improve. He'll have a chance to show his worth in the open floor as a streaker, play out of ball screen actions as the roller, or get some opportunity in face-ups from the mid-post. In our most recent viewing of Haysbert, there were clear indications that he's becoming more comfortable growing into his body, but there is still a ways to go with any prospect his size and age. The Dons will need as much production as they can get out of the intriguing sophomore, so it'll be interesting to see if he can answer the call.

Muhammad is another small lead guard in Baltimore City who provides an entertaining game. His wiggle, command on the ball, and toughness that he brings to make up for the lack of size demands your respect. Making the transition to the city league where the physicality can be ramped up a notch or two will be a great test for Muhammad. Going up against other tough-nosed, aggressive guards such as Rountree will be a treat for those in attendance.
