2027s Making the Rankings For the 1st Time

These players showed consistency, growth, and flashes that demanded attention. We do not have many bigs in the state like Vander, and I am sure that every team that Fossil Ridge faces this year will see that. We've seen him in a few settings this summer, but in the matchup with arguably the state's best bigs, Vander looked his best. He's a strong big with a back-to-the-basket game, he's high IQ on the post and finishes over or through smaller defenders. He also has deep range and a smooth shooting stroke at 6'8 and that only separates him. We've seen a mean streak from him and that is when he's at his best, and when he consistently shows that, is when he will really take over. Vigil is a strong guard that overpowers smaller defenders, has a strong mid-range game, and is a creative scorer inside. He is a downhill attacker who can create for himself and teammates on the move and is an in-your-face defender who baits opposing guards into bad passes and forced turnovers. Vigil is going to be a player that we expect to get plenty of varsity minutes this season, and will be a name that many more get to know. We've seen him a few times in the Fall league, and what we like about him is his effort. He's a tenacious on-ball defender that plays the passing lanes and turns that into scoring opportunities. He's a twitchy guard with range that gets to his spots. He has a quick first step and finishes at the rim but also can knock down the 3-ball. We certainly will see more of him as Rangeview will be an entertaining team to follow this upcoming season and he adds another electric two-way option. We saw him this summer, and from what we saw that Liberty team is going to be a team to keep an eye on as I think they will be one of the most improved teams in the state. Hoskins is going to help them immensely. He appears to have worked on his game, and when we saw him as a true 3-level scorer. He has great size at 6'8 and is a next-level athlete. He does a bit of everything. He dunks in traffic, steps out and shoots the 3-ball, and also protects the paint. He runs the floor and was one of the top standouts at our showcase as well. Fossil Ridge has size and will be a balanced team that gets it done defensively, and you give Bronson more size around. He's a combo guard that can play both on and off ball and gets into the lane. He's an inside attacker who rebounds well, makes the extra pass and will be a constant.
