The annual Prep Hoops Iowa Expo took place in Des Moines on Saturday afternoon, with approximately 100 players from the sophomore through senior classes taking the floor. Myself, Eliot Clough, and Healey Hill were in attendance throughout the event taking notes on every player in attendance, and we'll have a slew of coverage coming throughout the next week. I was primarily responsible for covering Teams 1, 2, 9, and 10, while Eliot handled Teams 5, 6, and 8, and Healey had Teams 3, 4, and 7.

A sophomore wing who showcased the ability to score from all three levels throughout the afternoon, Johanns was impressive with his feel for the game and ability to play with or without the ball in his hands. He can attack slower-footed defenders off the dribble and get to the rim, and he showed good form on his jumper with range out to the arc comfortably. He's a good athlete with length who runs the floor well, and after averaging a little over 2 points a game as a freshman, he looks like a real player for the Saints as a sophomore.

Taylor was really impressive in his second 5-on-5 game as a three-level scorer, showing impressive handles, a great first step, and the ability to finish at the rim with either hand. He does a great job contorting his body around the bucket to finish through contact by not fully taking the contact, but still getting enough of it to draw the foul. He gets the ball into his shooting pocket quickly off the dribble and has range out to the 3-point line.

Hughes was awesome last year at the Freshman Showcase, and I was excited to see how his game has developed. He didn't disappoint. You never quite know what you're going to get when a small-school player comes into a showcase event like this against larger-school players, and he didn't back down at all, looking every bit the big-school player himself. A rangy wing who can do everything on the offensive end, he's a confident shooter off the catch, a skilled creator off the dribble, and a tough finisher at the rim. His length is also a major asset on the defensive end, getting into passing lanes and contesting shots.

Wobschall was one of the most pleasant surprises for me on Saturday, scoring in bunches in both of his 5-on-5 games. He does a nice job utilizing ball fakes and head fakes to momentarily freeze the defense, giving him that split-second advantage to attack the painted area. He has good body control and footwork around the rim, finishing with either hand effectively, and he shoots it well off the catch.

Bush was one of the best pure scorers in the gym on Saturday. He handles the ball really well and shoots it well from pretty much anywhere on the floor. When you pair his handles with his quick first step, he's able to get to his spots seemingly whenever he wants off the dribble, and he does a nice job changing speeds to keep his defender off balance. He's a good, creative finisher around the rim with either hand, and he does a nice job using his all-around scoring ability to get his teammates involved as well, dishing to open teammates when the defense over-commits to him.

Lee's speed is his biggest asset, and he uses both the asset and the threat of it to his advantage on nearly every offensive possession. He has a great first step that he uses to blow by defenders and get to the rim, where he's a great finisher with either hand. He shoots it well off the dribble, getting to his spots in the mid-range. He's probably more of a two-level scorer at this point, but the form on his shot looks pure and he should become a more consistent perimeter threat with repetition.
