The month of September provides a key chance for High Schools to get back to work and display their prospects to College Coaches. Monday, I was in Greenville, South Carolina, to check out Greenville High School. Check out this deep dive into some of their top players and what could be in store for the team as a whole in 2025-26:

Open Practice Evaluations:

[player_tooltip player_id='1624061' first='Caden' last='Coleman'] - First up of the open practice evaluations is [player_tooltip player_id='1624061' first='Caden' last='Coleman']. Coleman is one of the best mid-range shooters in the state, and he got to display that early in Monday's practice with skill work. Once they shifted into live action, that shooting ability translated, and he was clearly the best player in the gym. One thing that gives Caden an advantage as a scorer is his athleticism, because it allows him to shoot over good contests. Coleman was also an impactful defender with active hands in passing lanes.

[player_tooltip player_id='2469370' first='Keshun' last='McCoy'] - The addition of McCoy to this team is one of this year's most important offseason moves. His defense is just as crucial to his role on this team as his playmaking, and he will be asked to defend full-court on multiple occasions. Keshun is a fundamentally sound defender who moves his feet, closes out with high hands, and boxes out across the floor.

[player_tooltip player_id='2027918' first='Tucker' last='Scholl'] - Scholl's jump shooting ability was impressive to watch on Monday. He shot the ball well during skill work and in live play, and that is something that will translate into big things alongside the rest of the talent on the Red Raiders' roster. Tucker has both deep range and excellent footwork on his jumper that will allow him to be more than just a standstill, corner shooter in this offense and at the next level.

[player_tooltip player_id='2977956' first='Kent' last='Kirkpatrick'] - Kent was the name at the top of my list to evaluate in Greenville. I have seen Coleman, McCoy, and Scholl on several occasions, but Kirkpatrick is a guy who could end up being a solid player at the next level. He is listed at 6'4" with very good athleticism, but his ability to knock down shots and make plays off closeouts is what will earn him big minutes this year.

[player_tooltip player_id='2977957' first='Graham' last='Green'] - [player_tooltip player_id='2977957' first='Graham' last='Green'] was a positive surprise for the Red Raiders on Monday. He left a good first impression on me at practice with some efficient shooting in their 3 on 2 drill. Green frequently punished rotating defenses with left corner and left wing threes. Keep an eye on Graham as a potential breakout player on this team in his Junior Year.

Team Takeaway:

The Greenville Red Raiders return the most Points Per Game of any defending South Carolina State Champion (50.6), including leading scorer [player_tooltip player_id='1624061' first='Caden' last='Coleman'], who put up 18.0 a night in 2024-25. The backcourt pairing of Coleman and [player_tooltip player_id='2027918' first='Tucker' last='Scholl'] was even better than expected, but Scholl could be in for big improvement in 2025-26 if you take any stock in the numbers he put up during the AAU Season. [player_tooltip player_id='1958970' first='Frank' last='Whitley'] picked up football over the offseason and saw a remarkable start to his recruitment, but he plans to suit up for the Red Raiders for his Senior Season and is currently in fantastic shape. The addition of [player_tooltip player_id='2469370' first='Keshun' last='McCoy'] and [player_tooltip player_id='2630132' first='Kiishawn' last='Farrow'] through the High School Transfer Portal adds much-needed Point Guard depth, while 8th Grader [player_tooltip player_id='2872890' first='Dante' last='Kirksey'] will have a role early in the season. Seniors [player_tooltip player_id='2404727' first='Gavin' last='Griffin'] and [player_tooltip player_id='2977956' first='Kent' last='Kirkpatrick'] started in the Summer and will be in the conversation for most-improved players in the state. The Red Raiders do have a new coach this year, but Yerrick Stoneman is one of the most experienced and most prestigious names in the Palmetto State and will have this group right back in the conversation for a trip to Colonial Life Arena in March.
