Not sure there is a 6'1 and under guard that scores as easily as Smith. [player_tooltip player_id='2858723' first='Jaylen' last='Smith'] makes scoring look effortless.

Smith averaged 19 points per game on the 3SSB circuit, shooting an impressive 58% from the field and 53% from deep — connecting on 61 of 115 three-point attempts. He finished the 3SSB season just two free throws shy of joining his own elite 50/50/90 club, a testament to his efficiency across the board.

What separates Smith from other guards his size is how easy he makes it look. His pull-up jumper feels like a layup at the rate that it goes in. Smith shoots a true jumper with good lift and rhythm— consistently replicating the same smooth release, even from deep.

Beyond the numbers, it's Smith's poise under pressure that turns heads. He's cool, calm, and collected. He doesn't force the moment —he owns it. That's why Team Lillard put the ball in his hands with 4 seconds left, down 2 in a high-stakes game. They trusted him to take the last shot and that tells you everything you need to know about his game. [player_tooltip player_id='2858723' first='Jaylen' last='Smith'] is more than a scorer. He's a closer.

[player_tooltip player_id='2352694' first='Elijah' last='Stanley'] is one of those guards who immediately passes the eye test. At a long 6'3, he moves fluidly, with the kind of athleticism that allows him to stand out on both ends of the floor. Stanley handles the ball well and has an extra gear when he decides to attack, making him tough to stay in front of.

Defensively, he already shows the tools to impact games. His length and quickness give him the ability to disrupt passing lanes and challenge shots, while also keeping the small quick guards in check. Offensively, the foundation is there—he just needs more reps to become more of a consistent efficient scorer.

With his size, athletic ability and natural feel for the game, Stanley has one of the higher ceilings in Northern California. As his scoring continues to develop, expect him to draw more attention and become a name to watch in the coming seasons.

[player_tooltip player_id='2215149' first='Trevor' last='Dickson'] proved himself as one of the more reliable scoring options this summer, leading the Soldiers at 15 points per game while shooting an impressive 43% from three. If he ever happens to miss an open look, the rim may be at fault and you might want to double-check that the rim is regulation—his jumper is that pure.

At 6'5, Dickson doesn't allow smaller guards to defend him with ease. He's comfortable catching the ball free-throw line extended, facing up and simply shooting over the defense. But he's far from just a spot-up threat. Dickson moves well without the ball. He's able to cut and slash his way to easy baskets. His high basketball IQ allows him to impact the game in multiple ways.

His strong summer earned him a call-up to the U17 squad for Peach Jam, a stage where he showed he could hold his own against elite competition. With his size, shooting ability and versatility, Dickson is positioned to be one of the more intriguing guards in California's 2027 class. Look for him to continue raising his profile as he continues to play a key role for a Modesto Christian team with great expectations this season.

Templeton Fountain V has emerged as one of the most impactful two-way players we've seen this summer, including other circuits outside the 3SSB league, the EYBL etc. A true hybrid guard, he brings value on both ends of the floor with a competitive edge that sets him apart.

Fountaine has a bit of a throwback persona—he plays like he genuinely takes offense to anyone scoring on him. That mentality, paired with his athleticism and natural instincts, makes him a constant disruptor defensively. Offensively, his athleticism shines just as much. His innate timing has already produced highlight-worthy moments, including a couple of viral tip-dunks that showcase his explosiveness.

At 6'3 with toughness, skill and a relentless approach, Fountaine is building serious momentum. Offers are already rolling in and it's safe to say more are on the way as his name continues to grow on the recruiting scene. Look for him to be one of the bigger stock-risers out of Northern California in the 2027 class.

[player_tooltip player_id='2136800' first='Zion' last='Grissom'] has solidified himself as one of the best shooters on the West Coast. At 6'5, he's a true perimeter threat with textbook mechanics—his feet are always set before the catch and his quick release makes it tough for defenders to close out in time. He's a next-level shooter with great rotation on the ball and every shot he takes looks like it's going in.

Grissom's game translates well to any system because he's more than just a catch-and-shoot specialist. He plays smart off hard closeouts, using one or two dribbles to get into a high-percentage look. He also rebounds well from the guard position, using his size and instincts.

Defensively, when he locks in, he can be just as effective. His length allows him to contest shots on the perimeter and disrupt passing lanes, giving him the tools to be a true two-way player. With his shooting ability, size, and versatility, Grissom is a name that college programs will continue to circle. Look for him to keep rising as one of NorCal's most dangerous perimeter players.
