This is the 3rd version of these player rankings for the Class of 2027, which have previously been featured on the Nothing But Net Magazine website. I have updated this list to include the Spring and Summer club sessions, and the Scholastic Live Periods of June. I have expanded this list from 40 to 55 players from around the Central Section. This list of players was compiled using my own evaluations, along with feedback from knowledgeable media, coaches, and other relevant basketball personnel from the Section, to make up the top 55 rising junior prospects for this updated round of player rankings for the 2027 Class. However, the order of players on this list is my own. I will update these rankings by the end of the calendar year and expand the number of players if needed. This list takes into consideration two key factors in determining where players are ranked, and will be the same criteria used each time this list is updated. The criteria for these rankings are as follows: current skill level and production on the court, as well as future projection at the collegiate level. Below is the next 10 players from the 2027 graduation class, #21-#30, and will be followed by player rankings for the 2028 class. In this article, you will find the following information: current rank, their previous rank in parentheses, the player's name, height, player position, and current school attending. We begin this updated list with wing/guard and sharp shooter, Luke Ramirez.

21 (16) Luke Ramirez |6'4| WG (Sanger)

Moving out of the top 20 and coming in at #21 is rising junior Luke Ramirez. Ramirez is a wing/guard that has a solid handle to put the ball on the deck to attack the basket, makes good use of the crossover and spin move to create space from his defender, has nice touch on finishes around the basket, and moves fluidly off the ball to get open looks off the catch, with accuracy and range on the 3-ball. Ramirez has active hands and good footwork to defend perimeter players, as well as the length to alter shots around the basket and control the glass, with the handle to push the ball up the court. Ramirez will be relied upon to increase his scoring, as seniors Micah Cole and older brother Caleb Ramirez accounted for a majority of the Apaches scoring last season.

22 (14) Kayden Lewis-Burnley |6'2| WG (Clovis)

Lewis-Burnley comes in at #22 in this updated list of player rankings. Lewis-Burnley had a solid sophomore season for the Cougars, but was limited in his play with Clovis in the month of June, as he was competing in national championships for track and field. Lewis-Burnley has active hands and quick feet on defense to stay in front of his opponent and disrupt their dribbling space, turns defense to offense quickly, and looks to push the pace of play, where he excels in the open court, as one of the best pure athletes in the Section. Lewis-Burnley moves well off the ball to get open looks off the catch with accuracy on the 3-ball, the moves to attack off the perimeter, and the body control to finish through contact around the basket. Although he is a good basketball player, Lewis-Burnley is top 3 in the country in the triple-jump for his grade, as he earned the bronze medal at the recent AAU Nationals for Track and Field. He will be a key utility guy for the Cougars this season and one of the better two-way players in the Section.

23 (24) Caiden Jackson |5'11| CG (Bakersfield Christian)

Jackson moves up one spot and comes in at #23 in this updated list of rankings. The jack of all trades guard was tasked with defending the opponent's top perimeter player last season for the D2 State Final 4 participant, Bakersfield Christian, and averaged 6 points, 2 steals, 2 assists, and 2 rebounds per game. Jackson has been tasked with running the point a majority of the time over the Summer with the Eagles, and will be relied upon to increase his scoring numbers, and still be the team's elite perimeter defender. Jackson has solid handles, makes good use of the toss cross, behind the back cross, and the wide crossover to create space from his defender, turns the corner quickly to get into the paint, and has the court vision to find open teammates or the creativity on finishes around the basket, with touch on the floater. Jackson plays with a relentless motor and is a good positional rebounder.

24 (21) Broden Burger |6'4| WF (Buchanan)

Moving down 3 spots and coming in at #24 in this updated list is Broden Burger. The physical and athletic wing/forward provided solid minutes for the D1 Section Runner-ups, but his role has expanded, as was evident in the month of June with Buchanan. Burger crashes the boards, provides second chance scoring opportunities for his team, and has nice touch on shots within fifteen feet of the basket. Burger has the handle to put the ball on the deck and attack the basket, with the physical build to finish through contact at the basket, and is effective with the jumper to space the floor, with the ability to connect on the 3-ball. He makes good reads from the top of the key, and has the moves to attack from the perimeter and draw fouls. Burger will be a key piece for the Bears in the interior and can play the forward and center spot if Buchanan wants to play smaller and faster.

25 (40) Von Bibioff |6'1| CG (Kerman)

Bibioff makes a significant jump up this updated list of player rankings and comes in at #25. Bibioff had a strong sophomore season and was the Lions second leading scorer behind older brother Daniel, as he would average 15 points, 5.5 rebounds, 3.4 assists, and 3 steals per game. I saw him with Kerman in early June at the Clovis North Nike Shootout, and he was the focal point of the team's style of play and will look to up his scoring with Daniel graduated. Bibioff has a strong handle on the ball, makes great use of the double crossover, behind the back cross, the spin move, and the between cross to create space from his defender or get by his opponent, has nice body control on the pull-up jumper, is accurate with the 3-ball off the dribble or the catch, and is a crafty scorer around the basket. He has good court vision to find teammates off the drive, and has active hands to cause turnovers near mid-court that lead to easy buckets in the open court. Bibioff is a player I could see making a jump up this list by the time it is updated.

26 (NR) Deshawn Franklin |6'2| WG (Clovis West)

Franklin makes his debut on this list and comes in at #26 in these player rankings. Franklin showed to be a welcomed addition for Clovis West over the month of June, as he has a strong and athletic build as a guard/wing that can impact the game in various ways on both ends. Franklin excels in the open court, running the lanes and getting up court to receive passes for easy buckets. Franklin has a strong handle on the ball, gets downhill and into the paint, has the strength to absorb and finish through contact at the basket, and has a nice pull-up jumper. Franklin is a solid on-ball defender, and will be relied upon with a younger roster this coming season.

27 (NR) Caden Haner |6'3| WG (North Bakersfield)
Haner is another player in this group of 10 that is making his debut to these player rankings and comes in at #27. Haner was a floor spacer and lock-up perimeter defender for the D3 Section Champs, and will be called upon to be more of a contributor across the board this coming season, as the Stars have a relatively young roster. Haner is a good positional rebounder, has the handles to push the ball up the court, moves fluidly off the ball for open looks off the catch, is accurate with the 3-ball, and uses the crossover to get by defenders, and has good lift on the mid-range jumper. Haner has active hands to get into his opponent's dribbling space to create turnover and open court buckets.

28 (30) Darryus Johnson |6'6| F (Central East)

Johnson moves up two spots and lands at #28 in this updated list. Johnson played JV for most of the season last year before being moved up for the playoffs, but was a key contributor and impact player in the post on both ends for Central East in the month of June. Johnson crashes the boards, uses his length and timing to be an effective rim protector with the strides to close out on perimeter players, and deflects entry passes into the post, which can lead to steals. Johnson moves well off the ball and finds the dunker spot frequently for easy baskets, makes good reads from the high post to cutting teammates, and runs the floor well in transition to get ahead to receive passes up the court. Johnson should be more of an impact guy this coming season and could be the interior presence needed to have success in the TRAC League.

29 (33) Grant Hyde |6'3| WF (Central Valley Christian)

Hyde moves into the top 30 for the first time in these player rankings, and comes in at #29. Hyde was a key piece for the league champion Cavaliers, as he would average 8 points, 5 rebounds, and nearly 2 steals per game and will look to increase those numbers this coming season, as senior big man Caden Lloyd has graduated. Hyde has a solid handle, enough moves to create shots off the dribble, gets good lift on the mid-range jumper, and runs the lanes well in the open court. Hyde is active on the glass, can alter shots in the paint and on the perimeter, and can space the floor with the 3-ball.

30 (NR) AJ Williams |6'3| WG (Hanford)

Rounding out the top 30 and making his debut on this list is wing/slasher AJ Williams. I saw Williams for the first time last season at the annual Edison MLK Super Saturday Showcase, and he displayed good athleticism, length, and skill to impact the game on both ends of the court. Williams has a solid jumper from the mid-range to the 3-point line, makes good use of the crossover to get by his defender, has active hands on defense to poke the ball out from his opponent, and excels in the open court, as he runs the floor well and makes himself available up the court for easy baskets. Williams has good lateral quickness to stay in front of perimeter players. Williams, also a good wide receiver in football, and will be relied upon to help out the young but talented Bullpup roster once he gets back on the court.
