PA Nationals: Local Senior Standouts

There was plenty of DMV talent that made the trip north. Helped his team secure the MADE Hoops Nationals Championship by consistently knocking down shots when needed. Tourean was left a lot of space on the perimeter during the weekend and continuously drilled threes each game. Thompspn started to showcase his versatility within his offense, taking the ball to the rack and making some tough finishes. Showed no fear in taking layups smothered by the defense. One thing I valued from watching Jaylin this weekend was that he always made up for his mistakes with his defense. Stayed a pest in the backcourt, racking up at least 3 steals in most his games. Shot the ball with extreme confidence and sensed the need for his short-handed team to look to him for scoring. Jaylin was always the fastest on the break, finishing a multitude of transition opportunities with an open layup. He showed ability to get by any defender and finish strong through contact and/or traffic. Very aggressive in finding his shot as the team was shorthanded in terms of their usual firepower. Kush finished a number of games with 20 points and never finished with under 10 through five games. His 3pt shooting was on full display, sinking shots from all over the perimeter whether firing off the catch or taking a step or two around the closeout. Kush moved well without the ball which helped force the defense to make shifts that created open opportunities for the team. His efforts did not go unnoticed as he was instrumental in creating some sort of offense for the team. Jason was the most successful guard on the team at getting through the defenders. He capitalized well in the second level, dishing off passes to open teammates in scoring position. finished with a lot of assists after each game due to his strong drive-and-kick game. Showed me some determination as a player with heart and guts. He was a key factor in Thrill's championship run at MADE Hoops. Always ran the point with composure even during runs from the opposition. Artis made it known early that he was not to be left open from beyond the arc. Buried seemingly every open three he attempted over the weekend. He made some great steals over the games I caught that boosted the team's energy. John made sound decisions with the ball, drew some charges, and made critical shots.
