Expert Analysis
William Lloyd III | Prep Hoops Scout
John was electrifying in Loch Raven’s close finish against Edgewood. He was able to drill a collection of three-pointers with confidence. When the defense closed in on him and forced a decision, John found his teammates well and put them in scoring positions. Very efficient game, missed some shots but only took makeable field goals. Confidence never wavered and the defensive pressure did not rattle him or his vision. Played the passing lanes well and rebounded well at the guard spot.

Given his steady presence and well-rounded identity, he did a great job of producing within the flow of the action. Artis is a solid creator who knows how to touch the paint, finish, and set up others. Defends with energy at the point of attack. Next in his development process is working on his ability to move without the ball, as it would lead to increased spot-up opportunities.

on the floor running the show more times then not. He was a key factor in Thrill’s championship run at MADE Hoops. Always ran the point with composure even during runs from the opposition. Artis made it known early that he was not to be left open from beyond the arc. Buried seemingly every open three he attempted over the weekend. He made some great steals over the games I caught that boosted the team’s energy. John made sound decisions with the ball, drew some charges, and made critical shots. Solid performance from the sharpshooting PG.
