The Prep Hoops team spent a load of time watching 2029 talent the past four months led by Ryan Schmidt's almost weekly viewings. Soon we will have our first 2029 prospect rankings. Here are the first thoughts!

[player_tooltip player_id='2821845' first='Malik' last='Martin']. This 6'7 prospect is an explosive finisher, he runs with all the matured young guards that are currently ahead of the developing size, and he's quicker than most regardless of size. Martin seems like an obvious choice as a potential top prospect in this class.

[player_tooltip player_id='2486564' first='Kolden' last='Johnson']. Kolden is likely the best all around player at the time. He has good size and is more skilled than most at this time. Johnson got on the floor for Anoka this year during varsity time and he played JV for a time as well. Johnson scored in twelve games this year for a state team. Another top player candidate.

[player_tooltip player_id='2916865' first='King' last='Smith']. Smith is an overpowering player at the moment and he has potential to be a solid player prospect. Another guy that will be talked about as a top player candidate.

There is another group of players that we've had on our list since last winter because they played junior varsity last year as 8th graders. Those players include....

[player_tooltip player_id='2916849' first='Mekhi' last='Abner'] of Osseo (6'5, Big). Played JV

[player_tooltip player_id='2906125' first='Tucker' last='Becker'] of Becker (6'0, SF). Played JV for the Bulldogs

[player_tooltip player_id='2917765' first='Tanner' last='Heinen'] of STMA. Played junior varsity.

[player_tooltip player_id='2916881' first='Mal' last='Jok'] of Mankato West. Had a five point varsity game against New Prague.

[player_tooltip player_id='2917788' first='Nolan' last='Kron'] of Rocori (6'0, G). Kron played varsity for the [program_tooltip program_id='2075852' first='Spartans' last=''] and averaged a couple buckets a contest.

[player_tooltip player_id='2853260' first='Beckham' last='Nelson'] of Minnetonka. Played JV

[player_tooltip player_id='2521685' first='Tristan' last='Latimore'] of Duluth East. Played JV.

Elliot Thompson of Minnetonka. Played JV.

Adonis Williams of South St. Paul. Played JV.

[player_tooltip player_id='2917790' first='Silas' last='Kardell'] of Legacy Christian. Played JV
