Expert Analysis

Rush is a really smooth and confident guard with long arms and deep off the bounce range. In the two games we saw from him on Sunday, he displayed his overall game with signs of growth in his ability to make plays for others, especially in the half court. Defensively, Rush uses his quick feet and length to be an on-ball disruptor where he often swings possessions to then capitalize in transition at the other end of the floor. Rush shot it over 40% from deep last year and he really showcased his ability to heat up from the outside in his second game of the day. Team Loaded South 3SSB will be in Los Angeles this week for their first session and I fully expect him to show out in his first time playing on a true national stage.

Rush has really come into his own as a prospect over the last 12 months and it feels like this spring/summer has a chance to be the time where he can really establish himself as a prospect that can get some national attention. Rush helped lead Team Loaded South 3SSB 17u to a Championship at The Big Shots Rise Tip Off event in Bermuda Run. Rush’s ability to score it from multiple levels was on full display as he averaged over 15 PPG en route to a 4-0 debut weekend for his team. Rush should be one of the breakout stars on 3SSB this summer and it looks like he’s taking on a real leadership role with this talented group. His positional size, length, and shot making are his true calling cards along with his approach to the game that gives him a ton of confidence to get the job done. As Rush continues to embrace the weight room, he will only get more and more recognition as the performances will be undeniable.

Rush first caught my attention last summer when a college coaching buddy called after an incredible performance at a NxtPro event and I immediately recognized that we had a gem on our hands with some quick research. At the HoopState fall league, Rush showed his ability to be a dynamic volume scorer, run a team, and displayed the kind of physical traits you’re looking for in a combo guard. Super quick off the bounce, long and active arms on the defensive end, along with his ability to make tough shots from every level with consistency, I truly believe we’re ahead of the curve with where we have Nylan ranked. He had a really impressive season at Leesville Road for Coach Frazier and should be able to build upon his success this summer with

Rush has been putting together too many signature performances this season to really keep track. He feels like a legitimate threat to get 30-5-5 every single time he steps onto the floor. He’s got super long arms that help him defensively and allow him to finish around the rim in traffic at a high level. Rush has been the guy for Leesville Road this season who is sitting at 14-3 thus far this season. Rush’s ability to both fill it up and help run his team makes him a very valuable backcourt piece. I fully expect his recruitment to really pop this summer and it wouldn’t even shock me if he finds himself flirting with some national rankings at some point this summer as well. Rush has simply stayed the course and is now stacking up monster performances in big games for Leesville Road as we come down the stretch of the regular season.
