5 Takeaways : West Florence vs Socastee
Prep Hoops was back in the gym last night after weather took hostage many teams in the Palmetto State for the most part of the past week.
MVP: Andrew Gardner (2018) Socastee HS
Gardner finally showed his potential of what type of player he can be when he decides to play. Gardner has a fresh new hair cut to start the New Year and a win in his back pocket over West Florence. Gardner led the Braves at home with 22 points on the night. Gardner his several free throws down the stretch in the 69-63 win over the Knights.
Mistakes : West Florence Knights
The Knights missed on several lay ups and put backs on the night. The Knights looked like the 65 mile drive did them in and looked sluggish and couldn’t execute around the cup all night long. Nick Stewart and Sabien Nero kept the Knights in the game with 16 and 15 points respectively.
Braves Guards : Kendrell Generette, Alex Collins and Kassius “Jay” Williams
This trio of guards scored 27 points in tonights win. Generette (2018) plays with a great motor and shows to have a nice mid-range game. Generette is always around the ball and in the right position on the floor. Collins made the first basket of the game and finished the night with 8 points.
Williams is a left-handed point guard that likes to play with a lot of swag and confidence. Williams seems always to get into foul trouble picked up his 4th foul halfway through the 3rd quarter tonight. Williams finished with 11 points.
Unsung Hero : Jonathan Wright (2019) Socastee
Wright finished the evening with 11 points and hit the dagger to put the Knights away at 37.4 seconds left in the 3rd quarter 44-37 when the Knights were climbing back into the game.

Cameron Spain (2019) didn’t dress and sat on the bench tonight for the Socastee Braves.
Daymond Tinsley (2019) scored a basket early in the game and never scored again tonight for the Knights along with freshman Ty’quez Eaddy who finished the game with just 3 points. The Knights have stilled not played with the services of Juan Perez all season long. Perez a Francis Marion commit could dress out this Friday vs city rival South Florence in a crucial region game.
