Hoop Group Jersey Jam Fest: Unsigned seniors to watch

Hoop Group continues its spring tournament slate with its Jersey Jam Fest taking place across several sites this coming weekend, featuring a selection of sneaker circuit, HGSL, and independent programs. Take a look below at a handful of unsigned seniors looking to leave strong final impressions in the eyes of coaches and scouts this spring.    Coming off a strong first session of UAA competition last weekend in Kansas City, Deng looks to continue asserting himself as a potential hidden gem for mid to high-major programs late in the cycle. A quintessential modern forward, the Australian shines with his ability to seamlessly toggle across the positional spectrum on either end of the floor. He has the quickness and skillset to play away from the rim, and has really turned a corner in the past year with his ability and willingness to use his size, leaping ability, and touch to cause havoc as a finisher near the rim. Whether in the high school ranks or the transfer portal, there aren't many prospects left on the board with Deng's combination of size, skill, athleticism, and motor.     Galli really came on strong down the stretch of the season for the MAPL and PAISAA runner ups during his lone year in the U.S., and should cement himself as a scholarship-level forward as more coaches get eyes on him over the next several weeks. A native of Italy, he brings a versatility and feel for the game that's customary of the European game, along with an elite skill in his ability to space the floor at a high level from the arc. As he continued getting more accustomed to the American game, he began showing more comfort operating off the dribble and using his size to make some plays defensively. Galli is a safe bet at the next level for scholarship-level programs looking for a plug-and-play stretch forward, with the chance to even impact the right D1 program that places a value on his shooting and IQ.     A pogo-stick athlete with a natural build for the game, Jackson has showed steady growth in the past year in developing his skillset and applying his physical gifts consistently as he gains experience in high-level games. In his lone year at Bonner, the hybrid forward showed steady progress, ultimately emerging as one of the best and most versatile defenders in the PCL. His ability to finish explosively around the rim and knock down open shots from the perimeter give him a steady role offensively as he grows in his ability to put the ball on the deck past closeouts. Young for his grade with the possibility of taking a post-grad year, a D2 or JUCO program could benefit from getting their hands on Jackson for the next stage of his development, as he has the natural tools and foundational skillset to one day impact the D1 level.     Ousmane had a hard time breaking through at times amid a loaded Patrick School frontcourt, but has used the early portion of the spring to reassert himself as a potential D1 prospect in the frontcourt. The jumping-jack forward has previously drawn attention with his slashing and ability to thrive as a finisher near the rim, but suiting back up with Epic Elite, has impressed with an expanded perimeter game. His ability to keep defenses honest as a respectable standstill shooting threat from beyond the arc should pay dividends for Ousmane's ability to find a consistent role at the next-level within a halfcourt setting. With many D1's having turned their attention to older prospects in the transfer portal, Ousmane could wind up looking like a steal if he slips to the right D2 or JUCO program.     McFarlane left his mark in his final season at Hayfield, walking away with All District and All Region honors while continuing to emerge as a two-way jumbo guard. Playing on the sneaker circuit level for the first time, McFarlane , he has no problem fitting in physically as he intrigues with his ability to play both on and off the ball with premier size for the backcourt. McFarlane is a regular threat to touch the paint while showing growing consistency in his ability as a perimeter shooter. He has the tools to be an impactful and versatile defender across the perimeter, which could potentially be a calling card of his moving up to the next level. D2s, JUCOs, and prep schools should be all over McFarlane, who certainly checks some boxes of a late-bloomer who eventually finds his way to the D1 level.
