I have been able to catch two events that the 23MD Team Daum has played in on this young AAU season so far, which means I have gotten to watch and grade out their prospect, [player_tooltip player_id='1622235' first='Preston' last='Brunton']. In those events, the feeling is that Preston has been one of the top prospects at each event. Furthermore, he might just have the ability to become a top prospect in the state of Colorado. When checking the rankings, I believe that he comes in at #18 in the state currently. If he adds strength and continues to work, he could surely move up by the start of his senior season.

What Player Thinks He Is Good At: Leading his AAU team & shooting

What he Wants To Work On The Most: Building Strength

Favorite Player: Steph Curry

Offers & Interest: Prospect has received numerous interest outreaches from DII schools or even some smaller schools. CS Pueblo, Denver, McPhearson, and CCU have all checked in at some point. But with coaching changes, etc, his recruitment is fluid.

MJ vs Lebron: Michael Jordan

Scouts Take: Prospect has the ability to do a lot of nice things on the court and create production with those skills. He recently won a 3-point shooting contest, but when his team absolutely needs a bucket, he goes to the post area to use some advanced post moves in order to get a shot on goal. His footwork is very solid in this area. As far as his in-game shooting, I find that he can get to his shot with confidence and ease. The player has shown the ability to hit some big shots in any contest that he plays in. PB's vision I would grade out on the plus side. Prospect can and does guard smaller players on defense with good help defense when he takes the correct approach. He will at times be a very capable ball handler and plays lead guard in some sets. On his dribble drives, he is capable of playing smart and playing the angles to get to the hoop.

What I Would Like To See Improvement On: All players in high school most likely need to gain size & strength. It is the number one thing that freshman in college struggle with the most, and that is the physical difference at the next level. I am thrilled that PB recognizes this and has it as a main goal. Next, the prospect can and does get to the hoop in most cases, or when he uses his footwork near the bucket to get a shot off. That ability is good, but at times he will miss some shots inside that he should convert on. I want to see him polish this up a tad so those shots will fall and possibly get more And1's. Drill putting the ball on the backboard from every angle one could think of, and his scoring averages could go up 2-4 buckets per contest.

Prospect is definitely a recruitable prospect and a college player. What level will be determined by so many different factors. I would think he could fit into a DII roster currently, but that is for others to decide.
