New Prep Hoops Ranking: 300
Hauser is coming off a junior season at Holmen where he averaged 3.0 points, 1.9 rebounds and 1.9 assists. But don’t let those numbers fool you. This high-IQ point guard might not be a huge bucket-getter, but he knows how to run a team, get the ball to his teammates and defend on the perimeter. His play this spring for the Sixers Elite club program has been outstanding, even though he rarely leads the team in scoring. He can score when the opportunities are there, but he’s the true definition of a pass-first point guard and that figures to earn him substantial playing time at Holmen during the 2026-27 season.

Hauser almost always makes very good decisions with the ball in his hands. The 6-foot-1 point guard from Holmen made stellar decisions for the Sixers Elite 17U team that finished as runners-up in the championship bracket. Hauser looked first for his talented teammates when he had the ball, but the lanky backcourt performer also took advantage of scoring chances when defenders backed off him. Defensively, Hauser possesses good length, mobility and size, making it tough for opposing guards to score.

Hauser did all the little things for his squad. Taj played high-level defense, passed others open, and dished a high number of assists. He played well every game while making winning plays.

Extremely hard working and active combination guard who can score, defend, rebound and push the ball in transition, Hauser’s versatility was a big bonus for Team 8. He showed that he can bang three-point attempts, but he also used his length and quick first step to get around defenders and finish at the rim. He was a willing passer, got on the glass on both ends of the court and also drew fouls on defenders with his stop-and-go dribbling ability. Hauser is part of a deep, balanced and talented squad at Holmen and should contend for major minutes for a team hoping to repeat as champions in the Mississippi Valley Conference.
