Bartels has the look of blossoming into a first-team all-league type of performer as a senior as he played at a very high level all spring for the very good Sixers Elite program. He seemed to gain confidence as each weekend passed in April and May, and he was outstanding in catch-and-shoot situations from deep while also using ball fakes to get around defenders to score at the rim. Bartels has good size, strength and skill and that combination makes him a tough cover for any defender.

We’ve written about Bartels’ accurate long-range shooting over the last couple of days, but in the title contest against ABC – Dillon, Bartels turned to another aspect of his game in scoring a team best 16 points. The physical wing guard used his strength and aggressiveness to get to the basket and finish through contact. He converted three and-one situations in the first half alone to help his squad stay within striking distance. In the second half, Bartels also connected from deep and was a constant scoring threat each time he touched the ball. On defense, he was able to rebound at a decent level while also staying in front of his opponent.

On Friday night, Bartels buried five triples and scored 21 points in a win over Wisconsin Blizzard – Welson. Saturday, Bartels swished four triples and scored 23 points in a win over Chapman Basketball Academy South. He is wired to score and does so with great efficiency from deep, but he also scores by using his size and strength to muscle his way to the basket and foul line.
