Devan emerged as one of the biggest discoveries of the weekend with DBA Elite, consistently making winning plays through his toughness and effort. He played with strength and physicality, battling for every rebound and refusing to give up possessions. Offensively Devan showed a great feel for the game by getting to the right spots at the right time and making himself available for easy scoring opportunities. His cuts to the basket were well timed and decisive, leading to several quality finishes around the rim. His motor, instincts and willingness to do the dirty work made him an invaluable piece throughout the tournament

DeVan makes his rankings debut after showing consistent growth and energy this summer. He’s an athletic forward with length and bounce. He finishes above the rim as a lob threat and runs hard in transition. He’s physical inside, defends with effort, and rebounds with strength. DeVan plays through contact, protects the paint, and looks ready for a breakout season as one of the class’s top risers. Going to be excited to watch that Overland squad and think his presence adds to it as they will need his size. 

DeVan earned his ranking by consistently making his presence felt on both ends of the floor. His athleticism and size allow him to dominate inside. He’s always attacking the glass and finishing strong at the rim, energizing his team with his physical play. He never takes a possession off, constantly hustling for loose balls, crashing the boards and making second chance plays that shift momentum. Defensively he’s a problem for opponents with his motor and physicality, disrupting drives and challenging shots. His effort, toughness and ability to impact the game through his intensity are what helped him secure his spot in the rankings

Overland is a team that plays extremely hard and is AT you for the entirety of the game. They have exceptional guard play and some tweeners that open things up for them with their versatility. Amongst those tweeters is Devan. DeVan is an athletic wing/forward who plays above the rim. He’s a rim runner who dunks with ease and that was on display all summer. He grabs boards and can start the break, finishes well inside, and also competes on both ends of the floor. I’d like for Matias to come out and show all of the progression he’s made as a player that should be on more radars. After a solid outing at the showcase, I believe that could be the case for us.
