Zakaria once again showed why he thrives in the AAU setting with a strong, physical presence all tournament long. His combination of size and quickness made him a problem for defenders, as he consistently got into the paint and finished through contact. He played with an aggressive mindset, punishing smaller defenders and creating second chance opportunities on the glass. His motor stood out, especially when attacking rebounds and turning them into points. Zakaria embraced the physicality of the game and made his impact felt on both ends, proving to be a reliable interior force throughout the weekend

Zakaria was one of the most consistent perimeter threats we saw this summer. He’s a true lights out shooter who demands attention the second he crosses half court. He works hard to get open and is constantly moving, curling off screens and relocating to open spaces. He doesn’t just camp out beyond the arc but attacks closeouts, finishes through contact and runs the floor with purpose. He plays within the system, fills lanes the right way and always seems to be in the right spot to make a play. That mix of effort, versatility and elite shooting makes him a coach’s dream and a clear reason why he’s earned his spot on the ranked list

Zakaria is a player that got on my radar earlier this summer and a showcase is the perfect place to evaluate him up close. His shot demands attention as teams have to face guard him, and he fits in nicely with Severance’s balanced attack. He plays on and off the ball, runs the lanes, and scores in transition. I want to see how that shooting threat holds up alongside the other top sophomores in the state as he appears to be a WL player that I want to be able to rank.

Zakaria is a player who shoots lights out from deep, making it difficult to keep him off the floor. He excels in catch-and-shoot situations, but he moves without the ball and comes off screens ready to let it fly. Lots of shooters at this age will settle, but not him; he gets inside and finishes around the rim, fills the lane correctly, and does what is asked of him. He has been standing out for 24MD Team Daum and will play a significant role for a Severance team that will head into the season as one of the favorites.
