About Cannon

How would you briefly describe your gameplay style?

Defense and teamwork.

Can you provide a brief description of your mentality or personality?

Positive attitude. Team before self. I'm a team player and always will support my teammates. I like to play defense and create plays.

Are you involved in any clubs, organizations, or have you received any non-sport awards?

I play for San Antonio Premier (Deleon) and Brandeis High School (NISD)Varsity team. Spanish Honor Society. 2 times UIL Region Band.

What skills or qualities have you developed, such as leadership, teamwork, or community service?

I think that I'm a leader. Both of my parents served in the military. I've seen them how hard they've work and their discipline. I'm also section leader in the musical program( Varsity band).

Have you faced any significant challenges? If so, please describe.

I've had to move several schools during my young years due to my parents being in the military. Coaches in middle school had me start on the B team at first. I worked my way up to the first team. I did the same in High School and made Varsity in my Junior year.

What type of college are you looking for?

Texas colleges are my preference. But I'm open to see what's out there. Thinking about either doing pre-med or sports medicine, or Biomedical engineering.

Cannon is a lengthy, versatile player that makes a positive impact for his squad on both sides of the floor. He has great vision on the court and makes solid decisions quickly in fast break situations. He has a nice ability to identify the best opportunities available and execute his passes to set his teammates up with wide open looks at the basket. The way he locks in on defense elevates his team significantly by creating additional possessions and leading by example on the hardwood. He impressively predicts the opposition’s next move and picks passing lanes with regularity, stacking fast break opportunities on top of one another throughout his games. He has a soft floater in the lane that’s highly effective and a nice touch on his jumpers extending beyond the arc. Calderon is a difference-maker in the truest form.
