2026 SG [player_tooltip player_id='1765526' first='Carter' last='Kleinwolterink'] (Boyden-Hull)

A 6-1 junior guard, Kleinwolterink leads the Comets in scoring (17.8) and assists (3.1). He's capable of knocking down shots from the arc, but he's at his best when he's playing downhill and using his athleticism and toughness to get to the rim for finishes. He'll put pressure on opposing teams with his handles and vision.

2025 PF [player_tooltip player_id='2397981' first='Michael' last='Boyd'] (Gladbrook-Reinbeck)

The next two players on this list are a pair of big men from Gladbrook-Reinbeck who dominate the painted area for the Rebels. Boyd is a long, athletic 6-4 forward who provides a ton of versatility on both ends of the floor. He's averaging 15.3 points, 9.5 rebounds, 3.3 assists, 1.2 steals, and 2.0 blocks while also shooting 43% from the 3-point line.

2025 PF [player_tooltip player_id='2397276' first='Drew' last='Eilers'] (Gladbrook-Reinbeck)

Another dominant big man for Gladbrook-Reinbeck, Eilers is a more traditional big, doing all of his damage inside the arc. He's averaging 15.6 points and 10.4 rebounds a game while shooting just under 60% from the floor.

2025 SF [player_tooltip player_id='1174816' first='Toryn' last='Severson'] (Madrid)

Severson has put up massive numbers as a four-year starter for the Tigers, and he'll have a real chance to cap off a stellar high school career with a state title this season. A 6-3/6-4 wing who can do a little bit of everything on both ends of the floor, he's averaging 23.0 points, 7.3 rebounds, 3.0 assists, and 2.2 steals per game on 55-40-90 shooting splits.

2025 SG [player_tooltip player_id='2397210' first='Brody' last='Buck'] (Madrid)

One of two sharpshooting guards that Madrid is able to surround Severson with, Buck is knocking down 40.2% of his 3-point attempts, showcasing the ability to knock down shots in bunches off both the dribble and the catch. When he's operating with the ball in his hands, he's also a dynamic playmaker, dishing out 4.4 assists per game to go with 3.3 steals and 14.0 points.

2025 PG [player_tooltip player_id='2398087' first='Fabian' last='Ortiz-Alaniz'] (Madrid)

Another sharpshooting, playmaking guard in the Tigers backcourt, Ortiz-Alaniz is lightning-quick and sees the floor extremely well. He's averaging 13.4 points, 4.4 assists, and 2.3 steals per game on 53-48-83 shooting splits.

2025 SF [player_tooltip player_id='1759939' first='Spencer' last='Roeder'] (Marquette Catholic)

Roeder was the best player on last year's runner-up group, and he's ready to try and finish the job this season. A skilled 6-4 combo forward who does a little bit of everything on both ends of the floor, he's averaging 20.4 points, 9.8 rebounds, 4.3 assists, and 2.0 steals per game on 52-36-75 shooting splits. He handles it well, shoots it from anywhere, and has fantastic footwork and touch around the rim.

2025 SF [player_tooltip player_id='2721446' first='Jacob' last='Litterer'] (Marquette Catholic)

Litterer's development is the biggest reason that the Defenders are back in a position to try and win a state title. He has turned himself from a solid role player off the bench last season into one of the best players in 1A this year. He's active on both ends of the floor, finishes really well at the rim, and can step out and knock down shots off the catch at a high clip. He's averaging 19.5 points, 6.8 rebounds, 2.0 assists, and 1.8 steals on 57-43-71 shooting splits.

2025 PG [player_tooltip player_id='1484418' first='Mason' last='Bechen'] (North Linn)

The best player in 1A basketball, Bechen led the Lynx back to the state tournament for the 9th straight season, where they'll have a chance to defend their title. He's a bulldog on both ends of the floor, a physical, explosive guard who can drop 10 straight points on you in the blink of an eye with his ability to get to the rim, get to the free-throw line, knock down shots from deep, and create turnovers. He's averaging 30.1 points, 5.2 rebounds, 3.4 assists, and 3.2 steals per game on 57-36-77 splits.

2025 PF [player_tooltip player_id='1759937' first='Collin' last='Homan'] (St. Mary's, Remsen)

A big, physical forward with great hands and good timing as a shot blocker, Homan is the anchor of the Hawks attack on both ends of the floor. He leads the team in scoring at 14.0 points per game, pulls down 6.7 rebounds, and is blocking 1.4 shots per contest.

2026 PF [player_tooltip player_id='1907683' first='Hunter' last='Horn'] (St. Edmond)

Horn has been one of the most productive players in the state this season, averaging 24.4 points, 9.6 rebounds, and 1.4 steals per game on 60-36-74 shooting splits. A talented forward who does most of his damage inside the arc, but who is capable of stepping out and stretching the floor or attacking off the dribble, Horn is an all-around offensive dynamo who is ready to show the state what he's capable of.

2025 PG [player_tooltip player_id='1951827' first='Carter' last='Gruver'] (Woodbine)

A quick, highly efficient lead guard, Gruver leads the Tigers in scoring (17.1), assists (4.9), and steals (2.6), while posting incredible 56-49-75 shooting splits. His ability to create quality looks off the dribble for himself and his teammates is rivaled by few in the class this season.

2027 SF [player_tooltip player_id='1977076' first='Landon' last='Blum'] (Woodbine)

Blum is one of the best athletes in the 2027 class, and I'm really looking forward to seeing how his game has developed as a sophomore. He has great size, length, and athleticism on the wing, and is a capable 3-level scorer and versatile defender. He's averaging 14.7 points and 7.0 rebounds per game for the Tigers.
