Palmetto State : CNHY Showcase Top Performers
The talent was top notch yesterday at the first year event hosted by Cardinal Newman and hoop-ology basketball camp. The event featured 4 boys and 4 girls team in the one day event. Here are the the top performers from CNHY Showcase.
Mike Marsh – Gray Collegiate (2018) (pictured on front)
Marsh struggled in the first half for the War Eagles. Marsh 6’9 turned up his game in the 2nd half and finished the game with 17 points. Marsha who has GREAT hands in the paint finished in the paint and around the cup to help secure the War Eagles victory. Marsh has gotten into better shape and could be a nice surprise for some school down the road. North Carolina A&T, South Carolina State and Tennessee State University have offered the post player according to War Eagles Head Coach Dion Bethea.
Juwan Gary – Gray Collegiate (2019)
Gary just took over the game for the War Eagles in the 2nd half by scoring 21 points and finishing the evening with 31 points. Gary finished around the cup with several athletic dunks and rebounded the ball well on both ends of the floor. Gary holds offers from North Carolina State, East Carolina University, Clemson, Western Kentucky, and UNLV already according to Bethea.
Tommy Bruner – Gray Collegiate (2019)
Bruner made several tough shots today and finished at the rim for the War Eagles. Bruner plays with ice in his veins and wants the ball in the clutch. Bruner finished the evening with 17 points. Bruner holds offers from Wyoming, UNLV and South Carolina State. Bruner played at Hammond as a 8th grader then Spring Valley HS as a freshman. His older brother Jordan currently plays at Yale.
Chico Carter Jr. – Cardinal Newman (2019)
Carter Jr. was shaking and baking to the basket and kept the Cardinals in the game tonight. Carter Jr. can create his shot and can score the ball from all 3 levels on the floor. Carter Jr. finished the evening with 22 points. Carter Jr. has received offers from Hampton University, High Point and Youngstown State according to Cardinals Head Coach Phillip Deter.
Joshua Beadle – Cardinal Newman (2021)
Beadle didn’t play like a freshman on the floor. Beadle a wiry left-handed guard played with a lot of poise and confidence. Beadle hit several floaters and mid-range jumpers to finish the evening with 17 points. Beadle is for sure one of the top players in the 2021 class.
Vince Cole – York Prep (2018)
Cole 6’5 finished the evening with 17 points and hit some clutch free throws down the stretch. Cole arrived at York Prep last season mid-way through the year after attending James Island HS. Cole a one-time College of Charleston commit can score the ball in bunches at times.
Jordan Burch – Hammond (2020)
Burch is a absolute man-child on the floor. Burch a left-handed versatile guard-forward can handle the rock in transition or just rebound the ball on both ends of the floor. Burch 6’5 is a mismatch guy that can get stuff done. This season playing football Burch ran the ball 44 times for 16 touchdowns. Football prospect and basketball prospect here. The Skyhawks won the State Football Championships.
