Zion had the big night for West in their win over Warren. He was very active on the offensive end scoring many ways while on and off the ball. Gross is such a skilled wing that he does everything so smoothly. He had several drives to the rim for buckets. Defenders underestimate how well he handles the ball and can move in and out of traffic when attacking. Zion made shots on the perimeter as well showcasing himself as a well-rounded threat. He led his team with 26 points.

Hillsman came into the season as a highly rated prospect after spending last season in Tennessee. Against Warren he made a statement as to why he was regarded so highly regarded. Ethan's first two plays were momentum changers. A drive to the basket for a two-handed slam and later on he spotted up on the wing and knocked down a big three to put his team up double digits. Hillsman was just as important on defense rejecting several shots and being a dependable rim protector. In the second half he stayed active scoring off putbacks along with stepping out hitting another three-pointer. He finished with 15 points, 6 rebounds, and 3 blocks.

I liked the activity I saw from Mickeis in the victory over Warren. As he continues to learn his role on this deep squad. Johnson had two big dunks one was a poster and the other was off a missed shot following up with a two-handed punch. Mickeis is strong and sturdy around the paint and is a sure bucket when he gets the touches. He had 10 points.

Davis had another big scoring night against West. His ability to play at one pace and still manufacture buckets amazes me. Jaxson was thrown multiple defenders at him throughout the game and he just sized them up and figured out how to attack each time. The super sophomore was elusive off the dribble with crossovers, behind-the-back moves, and step-back counters to get space for buckets. Davis did his best to get the others involved but their shots did not fall. As a defender he showed great anticipation with his hands and deflected several passes that led to steals. Jaxson scored 38 points also eclipsed the 1000-point mark in just his second season.

The Warren big man did what he could to help Davis with scoring. Zach had 11 points most of them were cleanup buckets off missed shots. He also pulled in 10 rebounds.
