2026 Leaders Across Massachusetts

Yes we are already previewing the next years Seniors (2026's) that have a chance to wear the "C" for Captain on their chest. These following athletes performed as well as anyone across the state that deserve some recognition. These athletes represent their team well with dignity, effort, leadership, heart and desire to put the team first. They are humble and willing to make sure the team's success is first and put themselves second. It takes a lot of hard work and dedication for these underclassmen to become the respected standouts their teammates have come to know them to be.    Football athlete as well and it showed. A very athletic player, getting to the paint effortlessly with different moves. High upside and gets a ton of paint touches either posting up or driving.  On defense very active hands, deflecting passes and shots.     A shooter who can knock down mid-range or deep shots. A balanced player while in the air, squares shoulders to the hoop when driving to make a pull up. Had some nice passes and even a behind the back that was a difficult pass but he made it with ease. Understands how to finish at the rim with variety of moves depending on the position of the defender. Pesky on defense with getting his hands on the ball a lot with tips causing difficulty for the defense to progress the ball forward. He does this by staying low especially while dribbling creating balance and difficulty for the defense to get their hands on the ball while he possesses the ball. Walls people up on defense, grabs offensive boards and knows how to move without the ball as a scorer. A great understanding of the team's weakness on defense and when to rotate down or up to cover unmarked players. Communication skills are on point as well when to inform teammates of unmarked players or switch on players.    <a href="https://twitter.com/jayjohnson88/status/1875336981959602426">https://twitter.com/jayjohnson88/status/1875336981959602426</a>    Has a lot of upside and was impressed with his skill set. On the defensive side of the ball understands when to turn and cross overrun to beat dribbler up the floor after losing a step and can do it effectively. The offensive side was a nice added piece to his game, as he made nice passes, good handles and a smooth hesi. As a point guard has a great understanding how to score when needed for his team squaring his shoulders/feet in a hurried shot making an important three ball at the end of the 3rd quarter to keep momentum for his team.     A dual sport athlete playing volleyball. Very quick to ball pressure and running the floor. He gets downhill and had a nice scoop layup with his off hand. Plays with balance and squaring shoulders for high percentage shots. He tremendously understands the offensive sets and on defense always has a hand in the players face.     I am impressed with his improvement from last year with his skill development. Has a nice off hand dribble for a bigger player. Has the lateral quickness to stay in front of the ball or create bad angles for opposing players driving. He creates problems with his wing span for any opposing player. Had an important offensive rebound and put back for two points in the game. Good bounce leading to rebounds and transitions buckets. A good help defender rotating down to close off gaps.
