Keagan Battles Keagan Battles 6'1" | PG Mount Vernon (Fortville) | 2029 State IN is a freak athlete with a lot of potential. Battles has ability to dunk and quickly cuts to the basket for easy layups. Very explosive player. Physical on defense with good use of hands. Has a good wingspan. It is surprising he isn’t garnering much college attention, holding just one offer. 

We highlighted Battles as one of the top performers at the Sophomore ID Camp. Here is what we had to say about the explosive playmaker…

One of the most aggressive guards at the event, Battles had a lot of success attacking the basket off of the dribble on Sunday at the Prep Hoops Indiana Sophomore ID Camp. He is a good ball handler with the ability to get by his man in one-on-one situations and then uses his athleticism and length to finish at the end of his drives. We expect to see him blossom into a role at the varsity level as a sophomore at Mt. Vernon (Fortville) High School.

Unfortunately his night ended with a knee injury with under a minute to play, but Battles took over in the second half to ensure that Mac Elite 15u survived and beat Grand Park Premier Black 15u 68-66. The athletic 6’2″ guard from Mt. Vernon Fortville High School poured in a game-high 21 points in the win. He proved why he is ranked as a Top 25 prospect by Prep Hoops Indiana in the Class of 2029.

Another new face that I got to see was 6’1” Guard Keagan Battles Keagan Battles 6'1" | PG Mount Vernon (Fortville) | 2029 State IN from Mount Vernon-Fortville playing for Mac Elite. This kid is an absolute stud. From the opening tip he puts his imprint on the game and impacts on both ends of the floor. High motor guard that is always in attack mode. He’s a quick, physical guard that plays through contact as well as any player I saw this weekend. He’s under control when he gets in the lane and showed really nice footwork when going to his counter move. He’s a game changer on the defensive end with his ability to guard multiple positions and his ability to rebound his position at a high level.

Battles is ultra athletic and plays above the rim impressively. Keagan is an all-around baller who scores and defends at a high level. He will make noise this weekend as an elite scorer

Admittedly, we haven’t seen much of Battles at all yet. However, we know that he will push for varsity minutes as a freshman at Mt. Vernon (Fortville) High School and has proven himself on regional/national stages as one of the top prospects in Indiana’s Class of 2029. Battles has good positional size and athleticism in the backcourt and projects as a big time two-way perimeter prospect. He will undoubtedly be one of the top prospects in this freshman class.
