There were a number of remarkable individual performances around the state last week. Below we take a look at eight of the top Class 2A showings from the second week of action in a series that we plan to continue throughout the year, hopefully without too many repeats!

2025 PF [player_tooltip player_id='1381402' first='Emiliano' last='Barrantes'] (Grand View Christian) -- 20 points (9-12 FG, 2-4 3P), 15 rebounds, 1 assist, 1 steal, 9 blocks [vs. South Hamilton]

Barrantes is going to have plenty of nights like this throughout the year, but what really jumped out about this performance was the shot blocking, nearly posting a triple-double with blocks. His combination of size, length, timing, and athleticism at this level is borderline unfair, as the Hawks found out last week.

2025 Landyn Miene (MFL MarMac) -- 19 points (8-12 FG, 3-4 FT), 10 rebounds, 8 blocks [vs. Edgewood-Colesburg]

The 6-6 Miene is off to a spectacular start to his senior year for the Bulldogs, using his size to control the paint on both ends of the floor, as was on full display against Ed-Co. He'll surpass last year's total numbers within the next week or so, and his eight blocks in this game were half of his total output last season.

2027 PF [player_tooltip player_id='2419815' first='Will' last='Litton'] (Regina) -- 13 points (5-8 FG, 3-3 FT), 17 rebounds, 2 assists, 1 steal, 2 blocks [vs. Benton]

An athletic, physical forward who does a great job pounding the glass on both ends of the floor, Litton was a major contributor last season as a freshman for the Regals and has stepped into an even bigger role this season. He does a great job highpointing the ball and he has a really good second jump that he uses to snatch rebounds against anyone.

2027 PF [player_tooltip player_id='2388492' first='Holden' last='Reynolds'] (Forest City) -- 13 points (5-9 FG, 0-1 3P, 3-4 FT), 17 rebounds, 2 assists, 1 steal, 4 blocks [vs. Algona]

A stat-sheet stuffing forward for the Indians, Reynolds was really good on both ends of the floor against 3A Algona, helping lead Forest City to a blowout win over the Bulldogs. He has good size, a physical frame, and soft hands that he uses to control the glass on both ends of the floor.

2025 PF Landon Fransman (Pella Christian) -- 11 points (5-7 FG, 1-3 FT), 15 rebounds [vs. PCM]

The Eagles lost a ton of production off of last year's team and were in desperate need of someone to step in and become a go-to player. Enter Fransman, a rotation player on last year's group who has stepped into a big role for PC as a senior. A long, lanky forward who does a great job using his athleticism and length to his advantage on both ends of the floor, he was dominant on the glass against the Mustangs.

2026 PG [player_tooltip player_id='2413533' first='Jameson' last='Scharnberg'] (Grand View Christian) -- 33 points (13-19 FG, 7-13 3P), 2 rebounds, 3 assists, 2 steals [vs. South Hamilton]

A quick guard with unlimited range, Scharnberg was on fire against the Hawks, knocking down seven 3-pointers en route to 33 points. He shoots it extremely well off the dribble and does a great job creating his own quality looks off the bounce.

2025 PG [player_tooltip player_id='1839807' first='Ryan' last='Treptow'] (Jesup) -- 33 points (13-23 FG, 2-7 3P, 5-8 FT), 11 rebounds, 5 assists, 1 steal, 1 block [vs. Sumner-Fredericksburg]

Treptow (pictured) put up big numbers last season as the J-Hawks secondary option, and following the graduation of Jack Miller, he's taken his game up another level. A three-level scorer who does a great job putting constant pressure on opposing defenses with his handles and quickness, he can finish through contact at the rim, create for his teammates, and isn't afraid to stick his nose in against bigger players on the glass.

2025 [player_tooltip player_id='2721777' first='Sincere' last='McMurran'] (Estherville Lincoln Central) -- 29 points (12-30 FG, 0-5 3P, 5-9 FT), 10 rebounds, 1 assist, 2 steals, 1 block [vs. North Union]

McMurran wasn't extremely efficient in the Midgets win over North Union, but on an ELC team that really needed someone to step up and become a leader following the graduation of Owen Larson, he has done just that and produced at a high level on both ends of the floor.
