5 Takeaways : Trinity-Byrnes vs Christian Academy of Myrtle Beach
Trinity Byrnes stayed undefeated on the young season at 8-0 with a 62-49 victory over Christian Academy of Myrtle Beach. The Titans led 14-8 after the 1st quarter and the Saints came back and tied it at 17-17 with 4:49 left in the 2nd quarter. The Titans went on a 16-6 run to close the halftime lead to 31-23.
Trinity Byrnes a senior heavy team with Lasauhn McFadden, Terance Mack, CJ Miles and Ryan Frierson led the team in the scoring column. The Titans really kept Mike Green from Christian Academy of Myrtle Beach in check all night. Green connected on a 3 pointer to start the game and never it one the rest of the night. The Saints missed several chances around the rim.

Mack has been a welcomed addition to the Titans program after transferring in from nearby Hartsille HS this fall. Mack a left-handed guard kept the Saints on there toes all night. Mack ignited the game in transition and in the half court set. Mack finished the evening with 19 points in the victory.
Best Offensive Performance :Lasauhn McFadden (2018) – Trinity Byrnes
McFadden showed his leadership for the the undefeated Titans. McFadden scored 13 points in the road win. McFadden shot everything at a high percentage this evening and really played within his game. McFadden has filled out his body some in the past year and has solid grades in the classroom according to Head Coach Larry Cullinane.
Sniper on the Wing : CJ Miles (2018) – Trinity Byrnes
Miles a slender sleek left-handed wing came out on fire in the first half for the Titans. Miles connected on 3 three pointers to start the game and finished with 11 points.
Saints Guards : Mike Green (2019) and Jaylen Johnson (2018) – Christian Academy of Myrtle Beach
Green is the leader of this team and has been for the past few seasons. Green recently moved into 2nd All-Time leading scorers at Christian Academy of Myrtle Beach. Green finished the evening with 16 points.
Johnson is just a junk yard dog who is not afraid to mix it up from the guard position. Johnson finished the night with 10 points and 10 rebounds. Johnson returned back to the Saints after playing last season at Carolina Forest HS.
Best Underclassmen : Davis Guyton (2019) and Jordan Jones (2020) – Trinity Byrnes
Guyton is the ideal pick and pop forward for the Saints with a soft touch from behind the arch. Guyton takes close to 90% of his shots come from behind the 3 point line. Guyton is not afraid to sacrifice his body and is always guaranteed to provide 2-3 charges taken per game. Guyton will take a charge on command
Jones came over from nearby South Florence HS this off season and quarterbacked the football team to a SCISA 2-A State Championship. Jones 5’8 left-handed guard at times needs to understand the situation on the floor better and not get to to fancy with the ball.

Expect to these teams to make a run to Sumter and play the might Spartanburg Day Griffins in the SCISA State Championship Game next March.
Jalen Matthews recently joined the Saints basketball team after playing football this season. Matthews looks like he has really put sometime in the weight room and bulked up with some broad shoulders in the past year.
Samuel Woods couldn’t get it going for the Saints tonight. Woods (2018) finished with just 4 points.
