2027 player rankings: Solid year ahead?

<!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>There wasn't a major shuffle in the latest 2027 Tennessee player rankings.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>But there are prospects in this class that will have eyes on them this upcoming season.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>So, does that mean a big, productive season is on its way?</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>This class, as a whole, will get a lot of attention, so let's discuss five prospects that could have productive seasons:</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p><strong>Collin</strong> <strong>Robinson</strong>, Franklin: Robinson is currently ranked No. 20. There are some things to like about the 6-foot-0 point guard. First, he's athletic. Robinson runs the floor well. He's very patient on offense, knows the difference between a bad shot and a good one. Robinson has good enough ball handles and is shifty to get into the lane. I don't expect Robinson to have big numbers, but I do expect Robinson to help Admirals at the guard spot. Maybe, just maybe, fans will get to see Robinson throw a couple of lobs to senior forward <strong>Christian</strong> <strong>Brown</strong>.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p><strong>Kobi</strong> <strong>Jackson</strong>, Independence: Jackson plays with confidence. He plays with swag. Those are great traits for a young guard to have in a program that has set a high standard for winning basketball. Jackson is a 5-9 lefty that shoots the ball well. He can be a pest on the defensive end. Jackson moves well without the basketball. Watching Jett Montgomery last season was probably a great learning tool for what it looks like to win at a high level. Let's not forget senior point guard [player_tooltip player_id='1318557' first='Tylan' last='Lewis'], who's another prospect with a winning pedigree. It's Jackson's turn now to help the Eagles continue their way of things: winning.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p><strong>Landon</strong> <strong>Warren</strong>, Perry County: Warren is currently inside the top 40 at No. 36. Warren has a chance to be a prospect college programs would like to have. At 6-5, he stretches the floor with his shot making ability. Warren can push the basketball in transition and finish at the rim. He's active on the defensive end, pries on altering shots at the rim. At some point, maybe after this season, Warren will have some programs interested. </p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p><strong>Simeon</strong> <strong>Pikes</strong>, Christ Presbyterian Academy: This class has a good amount of small guards. Pikes has a bright future. He has a quick, first-step. Pikes can get into the lane and knows how to finish at the rim. He can make shots from deep. Pikes is currently ranked No. 71, but a productive season with the Lions could put the sophomore in prime position to move up.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p><strong>Bryce</strong> <strong>Garnett</strong>, Kirkwood: Garnett has a promising future. He's currently ranked No. 24. Garnett is a lefty point guard with a good form and quick shot release. He does a great job of making the right basketball play in transition. Garnett sees the floor well. He knows how to finish at the rim. I'm expecting Garnett, statistically, to have one of the best individual seasons in 2024. </p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p></p> <!-- /wp:paragraph -->
