At 6'5 he's more fluid than most guys his size, which helps him handle the ball out on the perimeter, and finish in a number of ways at the rim. Gavin has to be considered one of the best shooters at 6'5+ in the state, and is able to connect on threes off the catch or dribble. He was active chasing down offensive rebounds for put-back buckets, was flying up the floor in transition, and had some nice cuts off the ball leading to more finishes at the rim. Showed some strength finishing through contact on a couple occasions as well. He was walling up to protect the basket, finding bodies to box out after every shot, and was battling for rebounds against the opposing team's size. He's strong, athletic, and skilled, allowing him to defend all over the floor, while also being an efficient finisher attacking the basket. Can finish above the rim, through contact, or with a soft floater over the top. He's so quick laterally, and is able to apply pressure to opposing point guards out on the perimeter. Was hustling for loose balls and sprinting back to stop the other team in transition. He was blowing by guys to get to the rim and transition and half-court settings, while also knocking down a few threes off the catch.
